New Jerseys: yay or nay?

Ostensibly, this diary is about the new jerseys the Sharks have adopted this season. I was ambiguous about them at first, but have since decided that, at least, the main logo, or "primary crest" if you will, is a definite upgrade. A review of the changes can be seen here.

Star-divide

In truth, though, I just thought it would be fun to post the first diary on the site, to go along with my shiny 2-digit UID.

There's supposed to be a poll here... and the edit diary function isn't working

I like 'em

I am still on the fence about adding the orange to the color scheme, but overall I think they are an upgrade...I especially like the stripes making a comeback, it looks like more of an "old school" sweater to me.

I agree.

I think the best thing to do would have been to keep the grey, but overall, I feel that they're an upgrade.

Now I have to make my way down to San Jo to pick up some new gear (seriously, there is ONE store in all of San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley that has a somewhat reasonable variety of the new stuff).

Agree also

The guy who designed my school’s 50th anniversary logo also created the old and new crests for the Sharks. I think the new crest looks more modern and intimidating than the old one, but I like them both.

I’ll get used to the orange, but what’s up with the shiny material on the name/number of the road unis? I guess it looks better on TV, but it looks weird in photos.

too busy

especially when you throw a number and a "c" or an "a".

BTW

Has anyone bought one of the new ones yet? Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to go to try them on and compare with the replica version? I'm a hockey-sweater virgin (unless you count my Oakland Skates-signed roller hockey jersey from third grade).

I don't know where you live

But if you are in or near Oakland...off of Hegenberger is a store next to the rink there that sells hockey equipment as well as Sharks gear. Here is a link to their website, I got my authentic Marleau sweater there a few years ago....

I have both the road and home...

... in the Authentic version.  They are a whole lot more snug than the old ones!

Oakland Skates... now there's a few memories.  Used to go to their games.  San Jose Rhinos too.  Still have their jerseys hanging in my closet.

I miss the RHI.  Great way to spend a summer evening.
