With the recent transfer over to Fear The Fin going rather well up to this point, I figured now would be a good time to ask for some suggestions as to what you want to see more/less of on the site. Feel free to fire away, and I will try and accommodate every request to the best of my abilities.

And no, "Give it up you hack" won't be tolerated. Although you may have a point.

I just received an email about the site, and the reader posed a question on whether it is okay to swear in the comments. Here’s my take on it:

Swearing directly at other readers will never be tolerated. Disagreeing on an issue is healthy (and heavily encouraged), but responding with something along the lines of “You’re [expletive] stupid JoeSchmo42” is inexcusable. Plus it makes you sound uneducated and ignorant. Stay away from it.

That being said, if you’re going to swear, keep it classy and under control. Curse words can inject positive emotion into a comment as long as they are used the right way.

Not a good comment: “Shit!”

A good comment: “Well the Ducks score again. Watching this game is comparable to shitting out razorblades.”

I’m sure you will be able to find the line. If you cross it I’ll let you know in the comments- don’t take it personally. And as long as you refrain from making the same mistake repeatedly there will be no hard feelings.

Whew. Any other damn questions? :)

Fear The Fin: Where the second round is overrated.

since FTF is getting much more members now

i think we could try out a DLD (daily link dump), so instead of posting several interesting fanposts or fanshots we could just find them in one spot

also if someone has a lot of time they could make a QOTM (quote of the month) which is just basically a bunch of funny quotes in one spot. and to make this work whenever someone says something funny you just reply with QOTM. and to assemble them use just search QOTM to find them

Daily Link Dump would be good, but doing that every day might be taxing for me. Possibly a biweekly post.

Quote of The Month is great- in fact I think doing it after every game’s thread (in Mr. K’s game wrap ups) would be ideal.

I used to do a DLD here (it was called shark bait.)

but really, there’s not a lot of news coming from sharks central on the daily. it’s better to post one before every game.

Thanks for the heads up/experience doing this Amoc. Shark bait is a good name for it- mind if I poach the idea?

Nah. If you want me to continue doing it, I’d be glad to. You do enough around here.

Sounds good to me, thanks.

If you need help I'll be glad to pitch in

It’s good to link up the various stories during the season. And off season if we can find one.

How about a new community logo

One with teal….and a fin, that’s feared

Hold that thought till Thanksgiving break- we’ve got something in the works.

Perhaps something like McCovey Chronicles’ minor lines?

examples:
minor lines 9/3
minor lines, 8/17

I’m not sure how easy it is to get information about the Worcester Sharks and the Phoenix Roadrunners, but it would be nice to have occasional updates about the Sharks’ more notable prospects. Daily updates are probably too much for anyone to do, but weekly or biweekly posts are good.

It never occurred to me that one man could play with the faith of 50 million.

Prospects

Yes indeed…the new site looks great but I can go all day on prospects…probably a weekly report is reasonable. Daily is too much with all the news that always goes on. Great job so far!!!

Yeah I am that crazy “The Program” blogger.

put a shirt on.....

lol…just kidding. ditto on your coming over to the blog, really has given it a better feel. I remember the days back in the long long ago (er…the beginning of the season) when I was just talking to myself in the game threads.
