Continuing discussion from thread 2...

You need D-men like Murray, and you trade some of his mistakes for the physical play he brings.

Erhoff, however, thinks he can handle the puck and wants to let us all know how good he is. Sometimes he just needs to bare down and play some D.

by Matthew_Taylor on Dec 29, 2008 7:30 PM PST reply actions

Probably, but it’s not too necessary to worry too much about 5/6 defensemen, I think. The Ducks won a cup with a 5/6 of Huskins and Dipenta — so long as they can generally tread water in some protected minutes that seems to be enough.

Yea I got ya there...

But Erhoff’s puck play in the neutral and offensive zones are almost counter productive. He’s a turnover machine at times.

Fear the Fin: Where I'm totally UNAPPRECIATED!

by Matthew_Taylor on Dec 29, 2008 7:33 PM PST up reply actions

Absolutely.

I love watching Murray play. He’s a solid defensive defenseman. Not the best skater, but he knows that and tries to compensate for it. Unfortunately that lets some pucks get past him

Erhoff needs to figure out he’s not Patrick Marleau and stop trying to skate the puck in on his own.

Stay in the basement for now, Stars. That’s good enough by me.

Hey guys....good game.

I saw what I needed to see from the Stars. Nabokov was excellent and was definitely the difference maker.

by Brandon Worley on Dec 29, 2008 8:28 PM PST reply actions

no doubt

the rest of the team had flashes of suck. Not the Sharks best game.

by schtimpy27 on Dec 29, 2008 8:29 PM PST up reply actions

Yeah.

They boys haven’t been putting up a full 60 minutes of solid hockey lately.

No insightful interviews

“Nabby, you made some big saves there, how important were they to the victory tonight?”

by Section223 on Dec 29, 2008 8:32 PM PST up reply actions

I love those!

The best one was when the interviewer asked a really stupid question about a blowout and Nabby paused for a minute then finished with a ‘sure…’

Great showing from FTF tonight!

As a reward, I’ll give you a sneak peak of things to come. This wont be out main logo, but Tony.psd provided us with a sick new alternate for the site… enjoy and use at will!

Why would you not?

It was genius.

well

overall I wasn’t impressed. But the work on the boards and in the corners was much better…
We simply have got to get back to getting more shots on goal and Semenov has got to go back to the press box.,

wasn't just semenov that played bad tonight,

even though cheech did score his puck control was terrible all night.

by mattman on Dec 29, 2008 8:42 PM PST up reply actions

ok, good

I’m not the only one who thought so. I’m nervous about calling out Cheechoo becasue of you-know-whoa round here, but he looked a bit soft to me.

by schtimpy27 on Dec 29, 2008 8:43 PM PST up reply actions

Cheechoo

is public enemy number 3 around here… Grier and Semmy take priority, though.

Not that we don’t all love the guys… but they seem to catch the most flak.

i wouldn't be surprised if he scores soon

even though his stats haven’t been there he has been creating a ton of chances

by mattman on Dec 29, 2008 8:45 PM PST up reply actions

Back (finally)

My laptop’s screen decided not to work, and so there was no posting during the game for me. Oh, and my mom made me watch the end of Big Break (oh fun, a show about golf!) so I was behind for most of the game.

But yay! A win for the Sharks. I made sure to listen to “Enter Sandman” multiple times today, so I’m sure that’s the reason why :P

by mymclife on Dec 29, 2008 8:49 PM PST reply actions

Not really

I did two and a half. But I felt that the Sharks game was much more important than my future.

…And I also found out that I could just re-use one of my 7 other essays that I wrote for college apps, which brought my total essay productivity for today to 1.5 essays.

by mymclife on Dec 29, 2008 8:55 PM PST up reply actions

Hey, I got through two Master’s degrees while putting the Sharks first. I think putting hockey first helped. I wrote my damn thesis about a hockey message board.
