I don’t agree. We didn’t really generate alot of chances.

Fear the Fin: Where I'm totally UNAPPRECIATED!

by TCY on Dec 31, 2008 5:34 PM PST up reply actions

yeah the parts I saw the wild looked better

by sharks on Dec 31, 2008 5:35 PM PST up reply actions

And the powerplay was pretty pathetic

by KindaFantastic on Dec 31, 2008 5:35 PM PST up reply actions

true

i guess you could say we didn’t generate a lot of chances, but the pucks on net were there

by mattman on Dec 31, 2008 5:35 PM PST up reply actions

We got out played though… they were too physical.

Fear the Fin: Where I'm totally UNAPPRECIATED!

by TCY on Dec 31, 2008 5:37 PM PST up reply actions

Our Breakout,

was also very bad, in line with the physical play. As evidence on the PP their forecheck was great.

by mattman on Dec 31, 2008 5:38 PM PST up reply actions

Extremely poor. Mclellan stuck with Cheech too long, he ruined any flow we had going.

Fear the Fin: Where I'm totally UNAPPRECIATED!

by TCY on Dec 31, 2008 5:34 PM PST up reply actions

I dont get

why you switch guch off the 1st line after only a few practices

by sharks on Dec 31, 2008 5:37 PM PST up reply actions

and down to the 4th line

by KindaFantastic on Dec 31, 2008 5:37 PM PST up reply actions

not like

marleau and thornton are going to get confused in a game after not practicing with their normal linemate, and when Guch comes back wouldnt want him to miss a beat.

by sharks on Dec 31, 2008 5:38 PM PST up reply actions

Yeah, that makes zero sense to me. I think that has a lot to do with his ice time in the third against St. Louis too- he barely got any out there.

Fear The Fin: Where The Second Round Is Overrated

by Mr. Plank on Dec 31, 2008 5:38 PM PST up reply actions

I get it,

for a couple shifts just because he hasn’t practiced, but as TCY said earlier, when cheech was playing that bad, why leave him in there?

by mattman on Dec 31, 2008 5:39 PM PST up reply actions

guch hasn’t practiced with anyone else all year though, I don’t see how it would affect him that much. agree on cheechoo

by sharks on Dec 31, 2008 5:40 PM PST up reply actions

Usually if you miss paractice,

you aren’t automatically put in the starting lineup, especially if you are a young player.

by mattman on Dec 31, 2008 5:43 PM PST up reply actions

even if it’s a good reason? i guess it’s good to be consistent to a point, but still

This is a great game,

for those of you not watching out there very very physical.

by mattman on Dec 31, 2008 5:52 PM PST reply actions

WTF?

Just read the AP blurb, and it looks like someone was counting their chickens:

San Jose lost for just the second time in regulation in 21 games.

Oh, and another gem from the same bulletin.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -Brent Burns scored at 1:38 of overtime to give the Minnesota Wild a 3-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks 3-2 on Wednesday night.

And mind you, the article is all of six sentences long.
