[Open Thread] Game Three, Western Conference QF: San Jose Sharks at Calgary Flames
More mandatory viewing for any of those who calls themselves hockey fans.
For the Sharks, the keys to this game are relatively simple. They must match the physical effort put out in Game Two, because nothing less will do against an über-determined Calgary squad. It would behoove (or is it befin?) Los Tiburones to gain an early advantage, thus taking at least some of the steam out of a Flames fan base that will be raucous in the extreme. And... well, actually that's it. Play level three Sharks hockey, tonight and in every game for the remainder of this series and all the series to hopefully come.
Okay, let's drop the puck.

Im very surprised that was not bording!
What a hit!!
That should fire Patty up for the rest of the playoffs!!
Patty is so frigging tough.......
he got straight up....I would not put it past him to get a goal now....its on baby!!
Dude should be ejected
then NHL should suspend him for a game
bs on sharks sending two men to the box & 1 for flames

I'm sure they will review the boarding hit,.....
but the other one was pretty clean. Patty had his head down, and just got nailed, but I predict big things for Patty as a result. He will rise to the occasion!!
Kill the PP and HIT SOMEBODY!!!
OK now we have a hockey game!!
The Sharks need to start hitting!!
This is depressing......
Well, what do you expect...
... when they're not genuinely standing up to the Flames physically? Someone should have been made to pay dearly for the hit on Marleau. How have the Sharks responded? With absolutely nothing. And when will Thornton, Cheechoo and especially Michalek actually stand up for themselves?

(3:45 3rd) And there you go
You play like $#@! on defense, you fail to make the basic play, you fail to clear the puck out of your zone, and now you're losing. This is even more pathetic than Game One.
Wow.......
Sharks blowing it again this season....
That was beyond pathetic.
If the Sharks lose this series, this game will be why. They had this game completely under control. Calgary does a goon job, the Sharks don't respond, they play like garbage the remainder of the game... you know the result.
I'd better not hear anyone say "oh it's just one game." It's the Sharks in the playoffs for three straight years. Now going on four.
3 games in, & Sharks have yet to show up...
They are not playing like it's the playoffs. Come on guys, this is Hockey Playoffs; it's 10x as fast, 10x as physical, & 100x as important. It looked to me like the Sharks caught the Flames off guard early (mainly got lucky) but they never actually showed up. Hopefully this game sparks a fever in them. Hopefully Wilson chews their asses out. Hopefully the Sharks respond early on Tuesday by slamming some heads into the boards, then feed off of that. Let's go Sharks.

BTW
I can't believe there was no one on the Sharks that stood up for their captain after those two hits. (I don't call getting two stupid penalties as standing up for Patrick.) Somebody in Red needed to receive a shot.

Well now.....
There is something fundamentally wrong with the Sharks in the playoffs, and there are a few people I am disappointed in, big Joe being one of them, but mostly Ron Wilson. I say it again, he needs to shake this crap up and light it on fire, or it will be his own ass getting lit up and sent packing.
