[Open Thread] Game Seven, Western Conference QF: Calgary Flames at San Jose Sharks

(Series tied 3-3)

It ends tonight.  How it ends remains to be seen.  Really not much more to say, is there.

The Sharks best players have to play like the best players.  'Nuff said.

Okay, let's drop the puck.

It's coe down to this........
and I am a fool not to have realize that it would come down to a game seven.  I mean, Hockey has a funny way of putting you in the best situation, or worst depending on how you look at it, to conquer your demons.  The Sharks have the opportunity tonight to beat a physical Calgary team, with a Strelow taught goalie. (Kipper)  If they fail, it will look pathetic, but if they win, I believe they will be over the hump and ready for Dallas!!

Someone explain this to me...

... exactly what posseses fans of the visiting team to be belligerent morons?  Is this some kind of pseudo-macho thing?  Whatever.  I hope Sharks fans have more class when they're in another building.

Tank looks pumped

hope the Sharks play well & keep the place rocking

(11:31 1st) Whew!

The action is too hot to keep up with!  Furious end to end, which favors the Sharks.

Fantastic pass and great puck placement from Joe!

Great effort so far, they cant take their foot off the gass pedal!!

Horrible, what was that!! They just let up,

and gave up a stupid penalty and then the gaol.

(7:53 1st) Unfortunately...

... San Jose's inability in this series to kill penalties continues.

by Diecast Dude on Apr 22, 2008 7:35 PM PDT reply actions

(4:42 1st) Play has slowed down...

... which favors Calgary.  SJ needs to pick up the tempo.

by Diecast Dude on Apr 22, 2008 7:40 PM PDT reply actions

(End 1st) Good start, so-so finish

Energy level dropped as the period went on.  Not good enough.

by Diecast Dude on Apr 22, 2008 7:51 PM PDT reply actions

I Think that was my favorite period to watch...

sucks it isn't 1-0 or 2-0, but sharks are getting opportunities and eventually that will score goal.

I now hate Nolan

didn't before...but do now.  Even if this is reversed.

(16:27 2nd) Swell

Giveaway equals Nolsn breakaway equals Calgary up 2-1.

by Diecast Dude on Apr 22, 2008 8:11 PM PDT reply actions

Told ya

Sharks getting opportunities & that will equal goals.  defense needs to step up now

(13:56 2nd) WOO-HOO!

You don't always need the screaming slapshot to score!

CHEECHOO TRAIN DRAWS A PP!!!!

We Can Do This!!!!  Come on Jumbo Joe!!  Come On Captain!!  Make it Happen!!  This is for the Franchise!!  Get over the Hump!!  Do it Do it Do it!!

by OakFoSho on Apr 22, 2008 8:18 PM PDT reply actions

Thats 2 goals for JR!!!!

The Settoguchi goal was recinded, as he never touched it, so JR has two goals.  COMEBACK PLAYER OF THE YEAR!!!

(10:16 2nd) The Tank...

Well, other than when KISS played here once.

(5:07 2nd) FiNALLY!

The Sharks solve Cujo in the playoffs!

by Diecast Dude on Apr 22, 2008 8:35 PM PDT reply actions

(End 2nd) That was a period to savor

Not over yet, but SJ demonstrated dominance in that period like none other in this series.  Twenty more minutes like that, please!

by Diecast Dude on Apr 22, 2008 8:48 PM PDT reply actions

Wooo!

This has been an amazing period. CHEERS to Setoguchi for playing with wiser than someone as fresh as he should be. The Sharks are stepping up collectively right now and it is an absolute breath of fresh air. Roenick is a game 7 BEAST! One more period! You can do this Sharks!

by coma @ Fear The Fin on Apr 22, 2008 8:50 PM PDT reply actions

That was the best period of the Series

gave up an early goal & came back viciously...

by drink409 on Apr 22, 2008 8:54 PM PDT reply actions

(14:42 3rd) You could see it coming

Sharks in a defensive shell.  Which never works.

by Diecast Dude on Apr 22, 2008 9:11 PM PDT reply actions

(10:53 3rd) Ice issues

Something is going on with the ice on the far right side. I've never seen so many players suddenly lose their edge and fall over there as tonight.

by Diecast Dude on Apr 22, 2008 9:21 PM PDT reply actions

(5:40 3rd) Nervous time

Another SJ goal here would be nice...

by Diecast Dude on Apr 22, 2008 9:29 PM PDT reply actions

Wooohoo!

What a win! WHAT A WIN!

by coma @ Fear The Fin on Apr 22, 2008 9:41 PM PDT reply actions

Hell yeah!!

Great game.  JR was great.

by drink409 on Apr 22, 2008 9:42 PM PDT reply actions

On to Dallas

What a way to close out a game 7. Roenick is the MAN!

by Caught Backcourt on Apr 22, 2008 11:05 PM PDT reply actions

Watching the game at Dave and Busters in Milpitas

Great win for the sharks. I felt wary of the flames because they were like the Utah Jazz of the NHL--they had some of this unpredictable juju that thankfully got dismantled by JR tonight!!

LET'S SMASH DALLAS!!
