Looks like he's going to be out for three weeks, which (with the All-Star break) only adds up to around seven games.

Probably the best time to do this thing.

[Update 12:15 PM]: Had to run this morning so I just wanted to get the information up.

My take on this is pretty positive- it gives Lukowich time to recover (we're not going to be desperate for points during the time he is out), and it gives us an opportunity to really see what Joslin can do. He hasn't stood out thus far, which is just fine with me for a guy that isn't going to get a lot of ice time. Making solid defensive plays and not committing turnovers is what I expect of him.

Luko has done an excellent job this year with Boyle, and it's imperative he is ready come playoff time. Surgery now is a very good thing.

Go Sharks.

Well...

I guess that means no All-Star game for Joslin, I’m sure he’s happy though, will be interesting to see how he continues to play.

Positives

aside….I think about how long it took Cheech to come back healthy.

but as I'm sure you recall, Cheechoo had a double sports hernia

Luko should be back on the ice at least a month before the postseason, which should be enough time to dust off any cobwebs. In the meantime. he can practice his heavy metal christmas carols.

I'm a happy seal

As much as I hate to lose Luko

better now than later in the season. Here’s hoping he’s back to his usual self come April. And it’ll be cool to see Joslin get some ice time with the big club. Hey and we could see another callup if someone else gets banged up if Jody and Cavanagh aren’t ready soon.

Better now than later. Our last few playoff runs have been hampered by players fighting through injuries and thus, being very ineffective in the postseason. We’ve been pretty banged up this year, but the major plus is how it has taught us to fight through the injuries (Michalek, Cheech, Mitchell, Pavelski, etc.). Hopefully this allows Brad to rest up and get prepared for the stretch drive.

joslin

not standing out could be viewed as a good thing, easier to notice mistakes and that means he isnt making them.
