The Lesser of Two Evils

Here are the latest standings from nhl.com. As usual Sharks in first, Red Wings is second. Sharks in first, Red Wings is second. Sharks in first, Red Wings is second. Sorry, I just love saying that. The Penguins seem to be experiencing some sort of Eastern Conference Title hangover, or maybe it's a different kind of hangover, you know, the type you get when your captain gets into a fight that makes him and his team look desperate and stupid.

Anyways, is seems as though the Stars have finally hit their "stride", or whatever you want to call it, because they are only a win away from pulling into a tie with the 8th seeded Wild. But to those of you thinking "Oh @#$%, they might actually make the playoffs," here's something to cheer you up. They play the Red Wings 3 times this month.

Wait a second, doesn't that mean the Red Wings get 3 easy wins? I'm confused. Who do I root for? It sucks if either of them win.

(This sounds more like a “The Lesser of Two Evils” post than a Keeping Tabs one) – says the guy who does Keeping Tabs ;-)

Seriously though – interesting poll. Dallas benefits us all the way.

I want the Stars to miss the playoffs

I watched the Dallas feed the other night, while the Network was free on TV. They kept highlighting their *99 win, and showing their ‘plethora’ of banners hanging from the rafters. The Dallas fans as a whole are obnoxious…hootin’ and hollerin’, standing while the puck is in play, banging on the glass like Semin in a bongo band.

And on top of that, the Stars have made the Sharks their postseason bitch one too many times. And to think the League told Gund no when he wanted to move the North Stars…but that’s another story, likely better fit for a cozy campfire, roasted marsh mellows and tin foil hats

All in all, I want the Wings to defeat (destroy) the Stars from here on out, but struggle enough against all other opponents that they remain behind the Sharks for home ice adv.

I'm a happy seal

Hear hear!

I voted for the Stars for that reason as well. Marty the chicken gets hot and it’s going to be trouble in a seven game series.
