Intermission and Final Twenty Thread

Can the comeback continue? Who knows, but it sure doesn't change the first twenty minutes of embarrassment. I almost turned off the television.

Up or down guys, just pick one.

Go Sharks.

Just a general question

What does “up” mean? Like, I’m “up in this thread yo” or something?

I've had this discussion with a friend many times...

How can two complete opposites mean the same thing?

i.e. “I’m up for some samoas ice cream” or "I’m down for some samoas ice cream’

I hate facing Calgary

Alberta teams are the Sharks kryptonite (sp)

Though the Sharks came out on top of that 7game series, I say the damage was done. They were too battle weary to survive round II.

One good thing tonight

I made brownies. Butterscotch, of the non-special variety. I actually was making them while the Sharks were playing well in the second period, so I drew it out as long as possible. Alas, there are unfortunately only so many ingredients in butterscotch brownies, so I was not able to prolong the mysterious brownie scoring powers.

Oh, and I’m pretty sure this isn’t a good sign, but I’m getting more and more comfortable with the Sharks losing. I mean, I’m still pissed that they lost and looked horrible during all five of those goals, but nowhere near the level that I was earlier in the season.

by mymclife on Jan 6, 2009 9:40 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Perhaps

buy lots and lots of brownie supplies so that if the magic occurs again, you can just keep making brownies throughout the game.

But between the brownies and the Sandman, you did all you could. I think the Sharks should carry some of the burden.

by Section223 on Jan 6, 2009 9:45 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

I was actually tempted to make more (the ingredients list is rather simple… brown sugar, an egg, flour, baking soda, vanilla, butter, and salt), but my parents told me that one batch was enough. And I didn’t have another pan, which was a bit of a problem.

But seriously – I keep working hard, giving 100% every game, and what do they do? I’m not Joe, I can’t just carry them on my back. I’m much too small.

Hell in a Cell Matches

My friend is still borrowing that game. I haven’t played it in a month. A Hell in a Cell match does sound pretty good right now. I would play with my unlocked Ric Flair character.

Haha, maybe. Or maybe I should add Seek and Destroy to my playlist; their home record is amazing, maybe that’s the song that helps them, lol

Yes, I am a bit superstitious. It makes me feel all important.

by mymclife on Jan 6, 2009 9:54 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Oh, I’m definitely superstitious too. I’ve got a treat that, although they might not be as delicious as your brownies, will be unveiled at the sixty game mark :)

As for Seek and Destroy, do it to it. Maybe Enter Sandman has lost a little luster and needs a break? Sort of like resting your goaltender etc.

Who knows, we’re all grasping for answers right now.

I’ve got my own superstitions which seem to work better for home games than road ones. Maybe it’s a proximity thing.

Oh, now I’m all curious.

Haha, yeah. I have been using it a lot lately… Maybe its power keeps getting used up whenever I watch other games, like I watched the Bruins-Wild game and was seriously rooting for the Wild, who happened to win.
