This will be the last one of these I do for a while, I swear.
A surprising amount of you responded that you wanted to do this trip, which, incidentally, is a month from now. I'd like to book airfare and secure hockey tickets within the next 10 days.
Short details - games are on Nov. 14th and 15th (Saturday and Sunday), in St. Louis and in Chicago (a 5-hour bus ride away). Flights would leave from San Jose (SJC), not SFO, and would be "open-jaw," i.e. arriving in St. Louis on Saturday and departing from Chicago on Monday. A bit less than $300 roundtrip.
Estimated total cost for the 3-day weekend - $700 (flights, hockey tickets, hotels, bus ride, food, attractions, and, of course, beer). If that sounds scary, just think of how much you spent on your last serious date - it's proportionally equivalent.
Seriously, the more the merrier. St. Louis Game Time is going to burn down the Arch in our honor, and the entire United Center is going to cheer for Jeremy Roenick on his Heritage Night. Conico is also going to recreate Ferris Bueller's Day Off, complete with a Twist and Shout float parade. He most certainly will NOT be wearing Gordie Howe's jersey, however - apologies to Cameron and the late John Hughes.
Even if you've already emailed me, please do so again to confirm that you're down. We'll coordinate the flight details so we're all on the same plane, and then one of us can get St. Louis tix while another secures Chicago tickets.
