Off the Post - October 14th

Star-divide

  • [UPDATE] - Joining Daniel Sedin on the injured Canucks list is Sami Salo, who will similarly be out 4-6 weeks.
  • [UPDATE] - Mirtle gives the low down on the reality of the neo-Quebec Nordiques.
  • [UPDATE] - While Alex Ovechkin is at the top of the points race (12), Anze Kopitar has joined Backstrom, Thornton, and Heatley in the second place bottleneck.
  • [UPDATE] - Marleau, Moreau... Copper & Blue debates stripping Ethan of the captaincy.
  • [UPDATE] - Lighthouse Hockey approves of John Tavares after 10 days.
  • [TCY UPDATE] - If you haven't received your tickets for "FTF's Night at the Tank", well, that's because I haven't sent them yet (me=lazy ass). I'll be addressing them tonight and they will be on their way by Saturday at the latest.
  • [UPDATE] - I know standings mean little this early in the season, but if the Los Angeles Kings beat the New York Rangers tonight, they'll be number one in the Western Conference (spot currently held by the Colorado Avalanche).
  • (More to come soon)

    Me on Toronto Maple Leafs

If I haven't said it before

I love this segment. Thanks for putting everything together for us Conico.

Seriously, I think all of us were thinking that when Murray scored three goals. I stepped in my doomsday bomb shelter for a while…

We do all appreciate it, Dustin.

Depends. If they hover around a 25% winning percentage, he probably doesn’t last all season. Anything over that, I’d assume he’s safe.

    Haha

“At what age should kids start dating?”
    “Seven.”

And then of course, the disaster on ice that is the Leafs is always fun to watch. The best part about it is that they don’t even have tanking to fall back on, since they traded away their first round picks.

Speaking of the Night At The Tank...

God, I know we’re in the upper deck, but I don’t have the tickets on me right now. I’ll let you know as soon as I get home.

IIRC, section 215. I used a lottery pick to get tickets to that game, but I’m in a different section. Can you check on the row/rows?

    Good!

My sister and I are going to get tickets too! (This is for the Anaheim game on Dec 26th right?)

    Editing note

Sorry all the links are on the front page, and none are after the jump – SBN is having a hiccup right now on the story structuring (at least on my computer…). This should be fixed shortly.

Yeah, they’re currently working on the issue. It’s been spotty all across the board.

Blame the Ducks new blog though. I know I did.

    That's terrible about the Islanders.

But there still seem to be some options elsewhere on the Island where the could play. I’m hoping that they stay in New York, but I’m not getting my hopes up.

So this probably belongs in the OT fanpost

and i doubt anyone’s even on here but my beloved Ticos are playing the US right now for a spot in the World Cup and we’re up 2-0 at halftime. I know probably 99.9% are either cheering for the US or don’t care at all but it doesn’t feel right to be sweating out a must-win and not be on FTF.

Btw, the US already qualified so if they lose it’s not a big deal. Don’t hate on the foreign guy.
