Dropping the Gloves: Week 2

In week 2 of the NHL season, the San Jose Sharks were involved in two fights. Did anyone else think that sentence sounded funny? It's like saying Manny Pacquiao was involved in a fight. It's hockey, fighting's okay!

On Monday the Sharks played the Coyotes. I forgot what the score was. I don't think it's worth looking up either. Yesterday, the 17th the Sharks played the Islanders. They won 4-1. There were fights in both games.

Star-divide

First up! Jody Shelley vs. Paul Bissonnette:

The fight takes place immediately after the face-off. The game score was 0-0. A snooze fest. Jody and Paul (first names, no way i'm spelling that dudes last name again) try to build some energy for their teams. They circle around each other and Paul makes the first move. They throw some punches and decide to "fight like men." After that they thought it was dumb and decided to throw those "sweater jabs." Jody got the worst of those jabs. He was caught off-balanced and fell. Paul gets the win here. Even though this wasn't a "BOOM BIG PUNCH OVER HERE" fight, Paul's punches were more effective then Jody's.

Second, Ryane Clowe vs. Tim Jackman

So, Patty has the puck and dumps it. Jackman bumps Patty in the shoulder. Joslin then bumps into Jackman. I believe Jackman then tried to bump into Ryane Clowe. Clowe said, "Bumping into each other? Eff this, let's drop the gloves." They pair up and Clowe gets some early punches in. He struggles to get his right elbow pad loose and Jackman takes advantage to hit Clowe in the face. Clowe says, "WHAT IS THIS?!! I CAN'T BE PUNCHED" and he grabs control of the fight and drags Jackman around punching him. This was late in the game, so they were a bit tired and the refs broke it up.

Sooooo.... Serious poll time now. Yep you read it right SERIOUS poll. Dropping the Gloves doesn't get the most commentage so I was wondering, do you like it and do you think there should be one for every fight, or just for the really good ones.

I like it, but there doesn't have to be one for every fight.

I don't like it, I never read it, and I hate its polls so I never vote on them.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Just wondering, because some of those hug fests can only be so entertaining.
