PrintSharks up 4-2 against Columbus. They scored 4 goals in the second but super lag calls for a new thread. Leaving the second period with momentum and a new thread is like playing with fire, but we'll risk it.
I can't find any funny pictures about the Blue Jackets but we'll steal a picture from CTGray. Shhh don't tell her.

I like the Tank’s single concourse set up. Intermingling between the upper and lower levels allow for a more unified, close-knit fanbase. It’s like you know everybody instead of being divided by how much you paid for your ticket.
Now, you can follow my uninteresting life on Twitter.
Having multiple concourses does lead to the ability to have open concourses and therefore sell SRO tickets. The Tank doesn’t really have that ability, which probably makes it louder, but also means that the attendance is fairly fixed.

but Heatley’s interviews are as exciting as Marleu’s or Vlasic’s to listen to.
Yeah, North American hockey players in general are fairly boring interviews.
I’m not sucking up to you, but I love Russian interviews when they’re done in their native tongue. Very witty guys. Damn shame I don’t know the language, because there has to be some case of things being lost in translation.

It’s also got something to do with questions. Russian press come prepared to their interviews and ask good questions. Not like this Brazil guy “there is a lot you can take away from tonight, isn’t”?
I also think the fact that most Canadian players get exposed to press very early in their careers doesn’t help them either. They learn all cliche’s before they’re even drafted.
On the other hand, in Russia you’re only giving interviews if you’re a top player in the league.

Datsyuk, but only if it’s for one series. If I’m building a franchise for the long haul I take Getzlaf.

Datsyuk is not a franchise player.
But I think he’ll have better Olympics. Not just because he’ll center Ovechkin and Semin, but because of his pure defense. He’s as good defensively as it gets since young Fedorov. Defense will matter a lot in Olympic format of hockey.
Yeah, especially with a Russian team that can score like hell. That gold medal game is going to be unreal.

If you’re a Russian coach, do you let Datsyuk or Malkin center Ovy/Semin?
I’d probably go with Datsyuk since he does play defense better than Malkin (something Ovy/Semin aren’t famous for)
Tough one- is there a top line you can put Datsyuk on that can serve as a stopper line? Kovalchuk isn’t a defensive dynamo either, so maybe not.
If that’s the case I put him between Ovechkin, because he might be allergic to the defensive zone.

Up until this season started, I envisioned top line to be Ovy-Datsyuk-Kovy. But not until seeing what Semin is doing this season.
It’s Russian defense that has be worried a bit, especially now that Markov is out and likely won’t be in good shape come Vancouver.
But the offense would be something to watch.
It depends if Heatley is on that proposed line. If so, I choose Joe for that purely because of the pre-established chemistry. I might choose Getzlaf otherwise.

Yeah, I should have qualified- essentially you don’t know who his teammates will be. You’re just drafting the center that you think is better suited to win you that specific playoff series.

I thought Clowe had a hell of a game, even if not on a scoreboard.
He’s clearly pissed about his game.
Defensively, I didn’t really see anything special from him. Plus the switching between Ferriero and McGinn on that line (although, I believe I saw McGinn out there more) probably didn’t help.
But yeah, at least he knows that he’s not doing well and wants to try and fix it. That’s always a good sign. And it means that we don’t have another Kaspar on our hands.

Yeah I thought Clowe had a good game. Hopefully that scrap got him going as well.
Is it just me or did McGinn look good out there as well? He hit his ass a few times (like five?) but I thought he did a good job of generating chances. Muffed a few shots, and needs to realize that at the NHL level he isn’t going to get as much space (the Jackets closed on him quicker than he expected I think), but he was a presence.

He certainly did try hard today, although I keep noticing him falling on his ass or bumping his own teammates.
But he was moving his legs a lot, which is good.
Nice to have him back.
I think he really doesn’t want to go back down to Worcester. Which is a good motivator.
