    A little off topic but.....

Is anyone going down to Anaheim for the Sharks/Ducks game on Saturday? I’m bringing 8 people and I know of about 16 more that live in the OC area that will be there as well. Meet up before the game? Anywhere good to get some food and drinks in my Sharks Jersey?

I live in OC and I'll be there

There is a brewery right across the street from the Honda Center (j.t. schmid’s) that has some pretty good food and some good beer. I’ll be there before the game with some friends, wearing my Marleau jersey. I went to the game in Anaheim earlier in the season and did the same thing. There were a lot of sharks fans at the place it was pretty fun.

I was there too, met a ton of Sharks fans. Wish I was going this weekend, too.

I was there after the game as well, it was good times. A bit expensive but at that point I was too pumped after the victory to really care.

Yeah it was expensive. I don’t know how Robbie, Harry and I ate 120 worth of food. There were those 6 pints, though.

Haha our bill was 120 also. All the pitchers sure do add up. Made for a fun night of duck heckling though.

    Sounds like a great turnout

Can’t wait for the game. Its been since last season since I went to a live game. We will definately hit up one of the bars before the game and I’’ll be in Section 437 at the game. See you all there!

    I'll be there

Three of my friends and I are driving down from LA. I’m the only hockey fan of the four of us, so I’m definitely going to try and get some Sharks converts, lol. No bar-hopping before or after, since we’re all on the wrong side of 21.

    We talked Saturday night

that the list of greatest Jeds in sports is really short. And then we extrapolated that to the list of all-time Jeds in anything isn’t much longer.

I mean, once you get past Jed Clampitt, a poor mountaineer – barely kept his family fed, your list of possible worthy Jeds may not even number five.

    Oh, and for the record

“Ralph” is THE Red Berenson Cowboy. Gallagher can explain the mythology more in depth, but back in 2005-06 when the Blues finished 30th in the league, there was an ice storm in February where less than 5,000 people probably attended the game. Gallagher said he was the only person in his section. He looked around the bowl and a dude wearing a Red Berenson sweater and a cowboy hat was the only guy in his section. Henceforth, we have attributed several worldy events, supernatural powers and other sundry things to the Red Berenson Cowboy.

Just don’t ask where his wife’s teeth are.

    Hahaha

Duly noted – I’d edit it, but every time I do so, SBN decides to screw up my YouTube video. Long story… but if we get an earthquake in these parts, I’m blaming it on the Red Berenson Cowboy. Or maybe the Blues’ less-than-heterosexual power play dance… or maybe Towel Boy.

Our talk about Jed @ the Tin Can did indeed inspire the “greatest Jed in professional sports” reference – I bow to your infinite blogging wisdom, oh Brad “Lee” (wink).

Thanks again for showcasing St. Louis to us – Lurks and I will have to come back and do that again ;-) Look for a fanpost of the trip by Monday night.

    Kevin Smith

Is indeed a die hard Devils fan. He’s also got a man crush on Wayne Gretzky that is similar to my idol worship of our blue line god Dan Boyle.

I imagine his contact with the Oilers is related to the Gretzky thing. He did a charity game with Gretzky’s father this summer.

    good article mc

bravo. a while back I started DVRing sharks games for something to pass the time during the winter, and eventually I just got hooked. I won’t claim to know much about hockey, but I do really enjoy watching it. No reason to hoard a sport like this in one area when you can expand it and gain more fans that way. I’m pretty happy they decided to expand it to the west I can tell you that. Just another example of how a lot of sports fans think their opinions on things they have done no research on are correct.

And go to Tahoe and tell me it doesn’t snow in California.

    Absolutely hilarious

Looks like Murray and Jumbo had the most fun. Shelley’s book wins for irony.

Oh, and the list if anyone is interested:
Jody Shelley – Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Evgeni Nabokov – How I Became a Pirate
Rob Blake – Heart of the Game
Joe Pavelski – Danny and the Dinosaur
Dan Boyle – Harry Portter and the Deathly Hallows
Joe Thornton – Goosebumps: Don’t Go to Sleep!
Joe Thornton #2 – Very Hungry Caterpillar
Patrick Marleau – Where the Wild Things Are
Douglas Murray – Captain Underpants and the Wrath of the Wicked Wedgie Woman
Ryane Clowe – The Magic Hockey Skates
Devin Setoguchi – Goosebumps: Don’t Go to Sleep!

And by Harry Portter, I mean Harry Potter. But I’m sure you could guess that.

The only one I’m not 100% sure about is the Goosebumps book, because the one that Jumbo and Seto had has a different cover color than the images online, but it’s the same picture.
