Gotta say, those goals at the end felt more like a slap in the face than anything. Its like they were all “see, we couldda played well, if we felt like it.” Obviously its not like they weren’t trying, but its still frusterating. At least they didn’t get shut out! Sigh.

I was doing some thinking...
and I’ll make a guess on what went wrong. Before the game the Sharks attitude was, “la la la another game. we can win blah blah blah.” Blackhawks attitude: “Playing the best team in the NHL. DESTROY. DESTROY. DESTROY.”
Positives from the game? They won’t let it happen again. (I hope so)

I was unfortunate enough to watch the game live. The highlight of the night were the warm ups.
So, the first thing I do once I get home for Thanksgiving is to go see a Sharks game. How do they reward my loyalty? Playing like absolute shit. Honestly, I was hoping that they’d decline all the penalties after that PP where they gave up two shorties. Except that elbowing call on Clowe – amazing how they didn’t call that Blackhawk player for holding him in place with his legs. If that wasn’t interference, I don’t know what is.
Mid-way through the second, I started predicting goals whenever they entered the Sharks zone on a rush. I wasn’t wrong very often. I stayed in club concourse for most of the third period (when everyone was doing the bronx cheer after saves), but ended up going back into the seats to sit with my friend (since it had mostly cleared out by then), and we proceeded to boo and mock the Sharks for the rest of the game. Even when they scored those goals, we still mocked them.
Oh, and I honestly thought the first star of the game would be, “for the Blackhawks, Kent Huskins!” You do not wind up for a slapshot when there’s a forward that near you on the point. You just don’t.

It was a brutal night to be at the Tank
I almost walked out after shorthanded goal number 3. It would have been the first time I ever left a game early, but I stuck it out because I’m clearly a glutton for punishment.
And I hear you about the end of the game. I couldn’t even muster the enthusiasm to stand and cheer our late goals. But I didn’t have the heart to mock them.
I think the most telling fan reaction was when, for the most part, the booing of Brian Campbell stopped. But the home team getting their asses handed to them will do that to a crowd.
That was probably the worst Sharks game I’ve ever been to.

That was Huskins fault on that one, but I felt on the first goal where he had a giveaway the Blackhawk interfered with him.
