Any FTFers ever been to a WorSharks game before?
Kinda OT, but I'm scheduled to visit Boston in two weeks and I'd like to catch some hockey while I'm there. Unfortunately, I don't have the luck to have my trip coincide with a Sharks visit in Boston and the B's aren't in town anyway.
So next best thing: Go to a Worcester Sharks game. Considering the extent of the SJ-Woostah Shuttle, there's gonna be a lot of familiar faces on the ice and I'm really looking forward to watching the Sexy/Stalock show (man that sounds wrong).
Just wondering if anyone else here has ever been, including the best way on getting there from Boston. I've never been to Boston before so any other advice or recommendations are also welcome! Thanks!

I wouldn’t know, but I’d suggest asking one of the guys who writes the WorSharks articles for Sharkspage. I believe he posts on HFBoards under the username 210. There’s a specific thread stickied there for Worcester Sharks talk. Either way, I’m sure he’d be willing to give you some pointers.

On a related note, if you do go, you should try to go to a Stalock game. The WorSharks posters on HFBoards are raving about him, saying he’s the best goalie they’ve seen in Worcester, saying he could be starting in SJ as early as next year.

I was thinking about asking the guys at Sharkspage, but thought I’d throw it out to FTFers too. I don’t really go to HF, so thanks for the heads up!

there are two freeways that go from Boston to Worchester. Don’t take Highway 2, its alot slower.

MBTA commuter rail runs between Boston’s South Station and Worcester’s Union Station, from which you can walk to the game.

Awesome man, hope you have a great time!
I’ve never been to a live Worcester game before, but I can send an email off to their PR Director and see if he can do a FAQ for the site on where fans go before the game, best seats in the house, any quirks to the building etc.
Hopefully we can get you something in the next week or so. I’ll keep you updated.

Oh good to see all this info on the Worcester Sharks game, because I’m already going to the January 3rd against the Isles’ Bridgeport Soundtigers, woo! :)

Sweet man
I’m jealous – I’m hoping to catch a Worcester road game in February (they’re not at home the week I’ll be heading to Buffalo to see the SJ Sharks). There’s an outside chance I’ll catch a home game in April, but it’s very remote. Next season, next season…
As for Boston, walk the Freedom Trail, eat tons of good food in the North End, including at Pizzeria Regina (best pizza I’ve ever had), try Legal Seafood (it’s a chain, but it’s based in Boston), see either the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum or the Museum of Fine Arts, and be damn sure to have a beer or five at the gazillion pubs / bars littered across town.
Note – it’s a really long walk to Harvard from downtown Boston. I’ve done it, and I wouldn’t do it again (although Cambridge is cool to walk through). Take public transit.
I hate the Red Sox with a passion, but Boston is a very cool town.

Thanks!
Really appreciate all the help and input everyone’s given. I’ve never been to a minor league hockey game before, so I’m looking forward to see what the difference in atmosphere is like.
I’ve still yet to buy a current-gen Sharks jersey, so I’m excited to wear my old jersey in Worcester without looking out-of-date.
Looking forward to trying some of the eat & drink – I plan on putting up my personal titleholder for best pizza ever vs. Mr. K’s.

I'll need to hit that up when I go to Portland again
But I’m telling ya – that Pizzeria Regina makes a damn good pie. The line stretching out the door is testament to how good it is.
