Setoguchi and Vesce healed and ready to go against Nashville
Update from WTC, and it looks like Setoguchi and Vesce are penciled into the lineup for Tuesday.
For all you Vesce lovers, it looks like he'll be bumped back down to the fourth line to accomodate Setoguchi on the first. Per WTC, the lines should look something like this...
Heatley - Thornton - Setoguchi
Marleau - Pavelski - Clowe
McGinn - Malhotra - Ortmeyer
Shelley - Nichol - Vesce
On a related note, Mitchell is skating and practicing with the team (on the fourth line today, as Shelley took a maitenance day), and it looks like he's getting close to a return. Don't quote me on that, though.

Man, it’s nice to see a setup where every line has someone who will put the puck in the net.
I have the feeling (from what I’ve seen from Scott Nichol) that Vesce will outscore Ortmeyer and McGinn.

I don’t know about that. Malhotra has improved, and McGinn is capable of creating on his own… this is his coming out party.

I’m OK with being wrong. My ego is capable of admitting absolute error. In fact, I’d be overjoyed if I were wrong 8)
McGinn, Malhotra, et al: Please make me wrong. I am only too happy to humiliate myself for underestimating you guys.
(Another reason I’m probably wrong — it doesn’t really seem McLellan sticks with lines. He tends to put lines out with combinations of people who are skating well. If McGinn’s skating well and his linemates aren’t getting him in the right place, it’s likely he’ll be put out on the ice with people who are.)

I really like McGinn lately. My favorite thing about Pavelski, Marleau and Mitchell is they don’t require someone else to get them going. Same thing for McGinn…he was a tempo changer. Not just because he sniped a goal either. he was hitting and skating and battling. Nice to see that from another guy…if the sharks get enough bodies like this they will really roll!
Here's to the second round!

I like how our both 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th line players are interchangeable. Its has a built-it auto reward system for good play and makes it harder for opposing coaches to match lines.

Orts
Anyone else impressed with Ortmeyer so far? I thought he was going to hover in between being a liability and a non-factor, but so far I have been pleasantly surprised. He has provided a nice burst of energy, and every game seems to generate at least one or two decent scoring chances.

Good pickup
Ortmeyer has occasional skating issues (which occasionally allow him to draw phantom trips against opponents when really he just drove his toe into the ice and fell down), and he had some early bad reads on the PK, but he has really hit his stride of late. Great energy, and once he settled in, has resumed his role as a solid PKer. We never gave him much air time in the offseason and preseason, but if we had, I think there would have been considerably less angst among the faithful here.

YES!
It’ll be awesome to see Seto back out and skating again. And we get Vesce back too? Just awesome! Love the scoring depth of this team. Malhotra, Nichol, McGinn, Orts, Vesce…all can score and create scoring chances. It’s something we’ve really lacked from the lower lines in the past.
Looks like I’ll have much to look forward to when I finally get back to a game at the Tank tomorrow!

I was holding out hope that Mitchell would be back this game, but I do not mind Seto or Vesce coming back either. Good to hear Mitchell is close, though.

Lol Mitchell. Everyone that got injured after you is coming back before you. What are the odds that Rob Blake is healthy and playing before Mitchell plays his first game of the season?
We just traded who for who?!

I'm just curious,
what’s wrong with him. Is it really just leg injuries? (Conspiracy theories GO!)
