Has anyone bought Uncharted 2 for PS3? There’s some decent deals and I’m curious if it lives up to the hype.
(I’m slowly trying to make my way back into playing video games.)

Another note: I hope Ovechkin does get suspended for that knee-to-knee, just so the league can have some semblance of being impartial to its superstars. Caps’ best case scenario I guess would be if he’s sidelined anyway, it would coincide with the suspension.

I really like Glee too. (Don’t spoil it yet though, I watch it on Hulu.) It’s weird because I normally hate musicals, but Glee is awesome. (The over-exaggerated stereotypes who turn out to be actual characters are pretty cool too. Sue’s diabolicalness is awesome as well.)

by tarlinian on Dec 2, 2009 11:35 PM PST up reply actions

I'm the same way with musicals

I don’t really like them because people don’t spontaneously burst into song in my daily life. I’ve had some conversations with others about this, and I think it’s because the music/singing/dancing is all in the context of a performance or rehearsal. With very few exceptions (I can think of one), the singing is either during a rehearsal or during a performance, making the show and the premise more believable. I love the show, by the way.

people don’t spontaneously burst into song in my daily life

wasn’t going to say this … but funny you mention this … I actually do … just for my boys … especially in the morning … they hate it … like yesterday and today with it being so cold, as my youngest and I walk outside, I’ll start sing something silly, “it’s so cold, etc etc etc” … they hate when I do that … I’m a huge embarassment to them (huge fucking smile) … but pretty much daily I’ll do this at one point or another for them … to them.

We do, tho’ it’s usually something from the Simpsons

“Baby it’s cold outside.” Is sung sarcastically cuz we both hate the song.

GLEEEEEE

Yes, I love it. I’m tempted to ask for the soundtracks for Christmas, because they’re so great. I admit that sometimes the writing isn’t the best, but the storyline and the way that everything flies in the face of stereotypes is amazing. Oh, and the singing. And the pretty.

A bit of former Sharks news

From Puck Daddy headlines today, Messier to be GM of Canada’s Spengler Cup Team, and Alexander Daigle is on the roster, hence the interest from Wysh. But a perusal of the roster shows that Mark Bell and Curtis Brown will be on the team as well (both are currently playing in Switzerland).

I appreciate the inside track FTF has on the WooSharks and I look forward to further correspondence and insight. However, I don’t really hear much about the K.Wings. For example, Tyson Sexsmith was recently assigned to Kalamazoo and I’m sure a few of us would like to know how ‘Sexy’ fairs in the ECHL. I would love for the FTF staff to provide the occasional update on our ‘AA’ squad in Michigan.

heavy topic -

my boys’ dad was selected for jury duty a couple months ago. not sure if anyone is as addicted to the news as I am, but nothing happens in san mateo county and only one case has been getting news. so altho he couldn’t say a thing bout what case he was a jurist for, it was easy to figure out.

final decision was made today

least things here can get back to a normal routine. I wouldn’t wish having to make this decision on anyone, tho I agree with the decision

(and that’s why I wasn’t around on the gdt today – he came over after and was finally able to tell me bout the trial)

So people are going crazy for the Space Jam Air Jordan 11s. Any shoe named after possibly the greatest animated/live action film I want!

Watching this piece on trades of the decade. Still can’t believe the Sharks basically got Joe Thornton for Marco Sturm. Amazing.

I said Sturm because he is the only one left on the Bruins, as Primeau and Stuart were traded for cap space and picks i I remember correctly. I know he’s no slouch, he has a cup ring now.

I’d just like everyone to know that the Motorola Droid is awesome. Thank you.

what makes it awesome?? (serious question – my phone is back from 2002 and been on the hunt for a new phone since)

Ever get the feeling we are on a collision course with reality? (boycott Hollywood!)

First off, it has a full qwerty keyboard, which is great for people like me who text a lot. It’s also touchscreen, which makes navigating the phone pretty easy, especially compared to my old LG keypad thing. It has a great browser interface for the internet, and a 5 megapixel camera.

The app market is the real prize, though. There are a bunch of joke apps, like a lightsaber one (the phone makes lightsaber noises based on how you move it), but a bunch of really useful ones. Sports scores, weather, song identification, and twitter are all there. And then there’s Google Maps and Google Navigator. Basically, they replace your GPS navigation system in your car, except that you can just say, “directions to Disneyland” and it will figure out either driving, public transit, or walking directions (your choice) to Disneyland. I think there’s Google Street View built into it, so you actually see where you’re supposed to turn. It’s amazing.

I’ve only had it for around a day, so I haven’t even discovered all of the things it can do yet, but I love it. Great alternative to the iPhone if you’re on Verizon.

I totally want one

but as there are 5 of us on our newly expired plan, I can’t just say SWITCH TO VERIZON WE GET DROIDS AMGZASFHSHASG and expect everyone to be happy with that. Especially because one person uses her phone like 3 times a year, for maybe 5-10 minutes tops. Per year. Seriously.
