I know they did it for their home opener because they had the white-out, but I’m always confused when teams do it for no apparent reason.

Seeing Murray play a lot during that PP was not that enjoyable. I mean, I love him, but he has two career regular season goals or something.

And then Joslin is not playing very well.

I think it’s made us notice the tendency for them to do that more. I mean, before I was just concerned that they didn’t shoot as much as they should have. Now I notice that they over-complicate things.

Leach is a pretty good defenseman, Nabokov was pretty clutch despite the loss (40 saves, and an 11 round shootout), Marleau was everywhere against the Stars, the PP still sucks, and there are far too many penalties taken.

Oh, and the refs called a penalty on the Sharks last night (delay of game), and then took it away after they consulted with each other and found that it was a Dallas player that shot the puck out of the zone. I have never seen that before.

Sorry if that’s more than 30 words.

Anybody up for a drinking game tonight? Here’s three rules, submit more:

*Drink every time Boyle carries the puck up past the defensive zone blueline.
*Drink four times every time the Sharks go on the power play.
*Drink every time Greiss challenges a shooter more than three feet out of his crease.

My bad

But really, the Heisman voters care about winners. The only way a guy on a 4-loss team wins the Heisman is if he breaks records and has unprecedented numbers, which Gerhart didn’t.

People will say “Gerhart, as good as he is, couldn’t make Stanford better than an 8-win team”

I wonder what the team would look like

if the radical Shark fans were running the team.

Boyle would be captain. Thornton, Marleau and Nabby would be gone. Petrecki would be playing. Logan would probably be gone because of his crappy pre-season (seriously how many points did he get?!).

Everyone would be -25

and our budget would be shot for the next 25 years…. oh and we’d finish with like 17 points

NOT TRUE. If the puck is still moving even while seemingly covered, the whistle should not be blown. Otherwise all five-hole goals would be disallowed, because they are technically covered by a goalie for a split second.

Oh, and then there was that Detroit goal that apparently counted despite the intent to blow being caught on tape.

Five game losing streak, with the next game on Thursday. And now Boyle is hurt? I am not happy with this team. Not happy at all.

But maybe this December is 08’s February. When we lose a lot but then go on an undefeated in regulation streak for the rest of the season.

Dear San Jose Sharks

You have good players. You know that you can win. Yet, somehow, this seems to be beyond your grasp at the moment. I am not sure whether to be disappointed or concerned about what is going on. If this is some plan on your part to keep yourselves from the top of the league and thereby downplay your performance leading up to a strong showing in the playoffs, please, reconsider your plan, because it is making things hard on us, your fans.

I’m not going to give up on you. I will keep watching your games if you lose every single one. But damn, I’d really rather see you win. I’m sure you can do it. You know you can do it. We are all waiting for it to be opened up.

Signed,

Your loyal but increasingly worried fan,

-xarexerax

I’m waiting for the video to be available online. Unfortunately I can’t catch the postgame show.

Regardless, you’d think that the Sharks would show a little more emotion after Boyle gets knocked down. If I remember correctly, I didn’t see anyone at least skate up to Pyatt and jump in his face. That’s the type of thing that can get a team going out of this funk.

Touche. It’s a pain in the ass when the feed cuts out at the end.

Good on Clowe for mixing it up— maybe it’s out of line to expect someone to fly in there like Tie Domi.
