Todd likely knows this, and while Seto should get over himself if that is indeed true, if Todd thinks putting him on the top line will jump start him more than putting him on a line he won’t try as hard on, I’m fine with that.

Wasn’t that the knock against him when he was drafted? IIRC, he was deemed a lazy player, and so a lot of people were surprised when DW drafted him. He was a bit lazy in his abbreviated rookie year, but then worked his butt off the next year so he can stay in the NHL. Now that he’s pretty much a regular NHLer, he’s not working as hard at it.

That’s what disappoints me most about him. He obviously has the skill, but he doesn’t have the will. We have enough kids in the pipeline who are playing HARD for a permant spot. He may find himself worked out of a job at some point.

His rookie year, I remember the talk
Devin had to spend some time in the AHL to stop having those “Minor League Moments” where he stopped thinking. And yes, he DID work his tail off to make the team. I miss that Seto. I’ll miss him even less if we trade him for a scoring winger.

I’m seeing good jump from the lot of them tonight. Their passes are nice and crisp, there are scoring chances a-plenty, and Mitchell’s famous short-handed goal was almost replicated. I see no pressure from the Ducks; I’m not even sure if they’ve forechecked yet this game. Really, Giguere is the only reason why the score is still tied – he seems to always be exactly where the Sharks are shooting, and it’s not like the Sharks are just shooting into his chest.
Basically? I like what I’m seeing tonight. And that last PP was as good as can get without scoring (seriously, 8 shots and there’s still around 20 seconds left? Amazing!). If the Sharks can keep this up, especially since the Ducks are worn out from the second half of a back-to-back, there’s a very good chance that they’ll win this game.

All these Sens kept saying how he’s a defensive liability and won’t do well in McLellan’s system.. Haven’t seen it so far. The guy works as hard as anyone.
I am pleased to say I agree. I was worried about him but he, so far, hasn’t seemed to be the drama queen he was made out to be at all. He plays well, he scores, isn’t a distraction as far as I can tell, and that combined with his work ethic has won me over.

Ideally sized for his position. Perry is not, but the Ducks gave him and Getzlaf contracts that make them franchise cornerstones. I don’t think that’s a coincidence. Keep your eyes on him.
