Night at the Tank: A Rousing Success!

58780105_medium

FTF Night at the tank was amazing; thanks to all the people who made it out to the game in the (unexpected, pouring) rain.

We'll have a full wrap up tomorrow; I don't want to surmise any thing before I hear back from Plank. Last I saw him, he was heading back to the Firehouse for more shots of Patron. Whatabeast.

If you have any pictures or comments, post them in this thread. I'll put up the video sometime before Monday.

Go Sharks, and thanks for showing up! Here's hoping next year is even bigger!

McGinn finally scored when Plank predicted it!

We predict it every game, had to happen eventually.

For those of you keeping track, the Sharks are 6-0-0 when McGinn scores. Shoot the puck Jamie!

I think they were going to be good, the only guy that had a problem with them was that guy in the Thornton jersey who was wasted off his ass. I had a little talk with him and told him that the guy in the Ryan jersey was in the Marines with me and he seemed to understand what would have happened if he would have kept pressing the issue. But unfortunately I had to take off early to get Plank’s drunk ass back to Cupertino and myself back to Merced. How late were you there?

Ditto, thanks for putting this together.

It’s almost surreal to have actual people in my head attached to all these screen names.

I called the game 7-2 Sharks in the first period, so I’d like give a big shout out to Kent Huskins for helping the “2” part of it come true, and blame the fact that the sharks didn’t make it to 7 goals on not enough people booing Cory Perry (including myself).

Sometimes life will strike you out on a curve ball and the only choice you have is to flip off the umpire and walk to first base anyway.

by Threepwood XX on Dec 27, 2009 10:34 PM PST reply actions

My oldest is claiming a part in that “2” bit as well .. he was texting his gf during the game … accidentally put in 5-2 when it was 5-1 … and well we know what the final score was.

Fear the Fin: Where Sharks Fans Aren't Like Other Sharks Fans.

by SharksFanEst.1994 on Dec 28, 2009 11:00 AM PST up reply actions

Okay

So my sister and I were kind of by ourselves in the corner near the table where ang and her boys were, and she’s from out of town and not a huge hockey fan so I was balancing keeping her entertained while finding familiar faces. About 30 minutes before the raffle drawings started, a guy in his late 40’s-50’s in a leather jacket came over and started making small talk with us. He clearly wasn’t part of the group and I figured he was a regular at the firehouse. We made some polite conversation as he was curious about the FTF party and he sat down with us.

I was a bad big brother and got distracted by Teas and Plank showing up, among other things, and by the time I turned my attention back to the table this guy was peppering my sister with questions, obviously steering the conversation towards what he wanted to talk about (L.L. labs where they developed the A-bomb), and was getting increasingly insulting and rude. As he got more and more incredulous/offended at the fact that we aren’t all nuclear physicists, he turned to ang’s kids and asked them if they had heard of the Labs, and between that and his increased profanity we all decided enough was enough and this guy had to go.

Lemme tell you something – you do not wanna see Ang mad! We called the waitress over to escort him to another section of the bar but he wasn’t listening, and that when he got an earful from her and left pretty upset, but at no point did I think there was any risk of it getting physical. His spot was promptly filled by an awesome sharks fan (sorry dude forgot your name, shaved head, leather jacket) and general merriment ensued. That is all.

you do not wanna see Ang mad

him talking to my boys, then turning around and saying shit bout them … yeah … not a good combination to keeping me calm … I’m a very protective mother.

and I could tell you were getting annoyed, so it was just time for the guy to go.

come on, you guys know me … when am I silent when I have something to say? :)

Ever get the feeling we are on a collision course with reality? (boycott Hollywood!)

Oh man...

What a douche this guy sounded like… You could have shoulder tapped me and I could have imparted some wise GTFO knowledge on him. Either that or face a mauling by the grizzly.

Umm..

L.L. wasn’t even created until the 50’s. They may have worked up upgrades to the bomb but it was developed originally at Los Alamos in New Mexico… mostly because nobody lived near there and they could actually test blowing the things up.

Not only was he a douche, he was a misinformed know-it-all douche. I hate those.
