I've got this writers block [link]

Steven Seagal wanted to show up but saw a buffet sign on his way out of Scotiabank Place. Rest assured he will be a huge player down the stretch (emphasis on huge).

No recap coming tonight, writers block has got us in a bind. Leave your witty banter and thoughts here.

Go Sharks.

When was the last time

the sharks scored first on the road?
It seems like a very long time.

I can hardly remember those days. or the days where the would score more than 2 goals.

Monday. At Dallas.

But that doesn’t really count, since it was also the only goal.

I just realized I was about 2-3 mins behind on my DVR.

Haha

“I don’t think anyone is raised as a backup goaltender.”

Have I told you how much I love Boucher?

Yeah, that was a hellova comment

but it also made it sound like he doesn’t mind his role. Which is probably just me wishful thinking that he wouldn’t mind playing that role for another year.

You’re either crazy or a prophet Dave. Regardless, I hope to hell you’re right.

This team needs Boucher in net this season and going forward. I just don’t have faith in Griess as a consistent backup, based on his play last season and stats this year down in Worcester.

on other games. . .

Boston gave Anaheim quite the beating.
6-0 shutout
Marty Brodeur gets a shutout on his first game back, a 4-0 win against the Avs

And I couldn't help thinking of CT

when Randy started talking early in the game about how Bouch had never beat the Sens. Bastard! I screamed!

It's funny

I had to switch to the radio and all Jaime and Dan were discussing was how they say stuff like that, but no way is it a jinx. Right…………….don’t bring the doom!

Brian Lee on his double minor
Lee had finished serving a hooking minor moments earlier when he was sent off again for holding Mike Grier at 9:39. The rookie defenseman put his team in an even deeper hole when an unsportsmanlike conduct minor was tacked on.

"I feel responsible for the loss," said Lee, who acknowledged that he had argued the holding call.

"It was a tough one, to get a double like that, but emotions are flying and it’s part of the game," Fisher said. "We’ve just got to make sure we learn from it."

WE? I believe the appropriate word is “I,” bucko.

Oh, right, hockey – team sport. Hmm.

Actually

If you look, its Fisher with the second quote, not Lee. So the “we” is correct, unless Fisher wanted to pile the loss onto his teammate.

Oh snap!

Touche. Speed reading is overrated.

So I guess it should read

so,

that sharks are just playing poop hockey right now, eh?

i mean, granted i watched all of 5 minutes and highlights from the website (which, as a sidenote SUCK always, like can we get some better highlights? like can i see a few angles on the goals? lord knows i cant see the puck or anything else when the screen is that small) but i have seen the last 20 games. and i am at a loss.

this was a team that i really thought was unstoppable. at times, over the past 20 games, they have looked unstoppable. mostly, they have looked lucky or pathetic though. yeah, they are playing teams in a desperate fight for the last playoff spot and themselves playing for… lots of points? pride? to win? maybe thats it. hey guys, lets not lose, cuz we should be winning. we are the best, after all. ok, thats a little too oprah.

hers to hoping

a) the trade deadline spells turning point in the season. (not because they need to add/drop. siomply as a point of reference that may be causing some guys to grip the stick a little hard.

b) february ends. if i trust my calender, which i dont, should happen sometime in the next couple of days…

c) i dont know. they take the skate guards off their skates BEFORE hitting the ice.

Go sharks, this team looks better than any has before. thats why i am worried.

"I want this team to be tough, smart and prepared to play well under pressure...Everybody here in this organization is going to be held accountable to do their job — their piece of the puzzle to make this team a competitor for a championship every season." J-Mac

Hasn’t Feb. been a terrible month for the Sharks in recent years? I think I recall some worse than this…but I am all for it getting better. Here’s to March coming in like a shark headed lion.

JR = class

After asked whether he minds that Marleau got credit for the goal last night:

“It’s perfect,” he said. “Patty’s having that kind of a year, a career year, and the more he can get, the more accolades the better. I already have 500. I’d like Patty to get 40 this season.”

The NHL needs more guys like JR.
