I'm not sure what's worse, his blatant nationalism, or his belittling of another sport (which happens to be the most popular sport in the world). I honestly hate this guy. If he didn't dress like a seizure machine to go, no one would know who he is. Die.

i like the old booger.

when i lived up norte i loved him on HNIC. yeah i thought his ultra-pro canada thing was a little overdone, but its a canada thing. in some ways, it isnt meant for the rest of the world. canada is special like that i guess. you have to know the people (not the vancouver/toronto ones, although many of them get it) but the prairie, edmonton calgary saskatchewan winnepeg thunder bay people who dont really think any other country actually exists.

Cherry is a spokesman for the game of hockey that has separated itself from all other professional sports in its utter respect for the GAME.

[Canadian] people who dont really think any other country actually exists.

I met these people last summer in the Maritimes (Nova Scotia, etc.) – they had never been outside of their dinky (by Canadian standards) province, let alone country. They had preconceived notions about lots of subjects – but it wasnt all bad. For example, once chicks found out I was from California, I could do no wrong – niiiiice.
