"We're just a good team. We're fast, we're strong, we're big. A lot of teams just don't know how to play us and really can't handle us. I think you saw that for 40 minutes. They just had really no clue how to stop us, but I think their goalie played well. We're just big and strong." - Joe Thornton. 2/28/09. Montreal 3, San Jose 2.

I wanted to post this quote

Because it appears to have drawn the ire of more than a few Habs fans. Apparently he came across as far too cocky for being a habitual playoff choker whose team just lost.

Personally, I like the swagger he’s shown this season.

I'm a happy seal

Yeah, me too

and he’s not gloating when he says that stuff…I think that’s what pisses other teams/fans off. He just says it in a matter of fact way.

Fear the Fin....where being an old guy isn't all bad

As they say in Texas

It’s not bragging if you can do it.

At any rate – the Habs last night wanted Joe’s head, mainly for his time in Boston (what a rivalry…).

I’m currently in Philly, though actually, I need to go NOW. Boarding just started. I’ll be at SFO at midnight…. yay me.

I’ll post my Montreal adventures tomorrow, unless there’s a big trade, in which case I’ll put it in the fanposts.

"I want this team to be tough, smart and prepared to play well under pressure...Everybody here in this organization is going to be held accountable to do their job — their piece of the puzzle to make this team a competitor for a championship every season." J-Mac
