Around SBN: New York Giants Super Bowl XLVI Ring Unveiled

Did anyone notice?

We're all really wrapped up in criticizing the sharks in this recent loss of form. Well I dunno about you, but I've been thinking...

Star-divide

In all the excitement of this season, the streaks and slumps, everyone stopped complaining about the new uniforms and logos. Can we get back to talking about important things like teal-orange ratios and fin visibility? Who's with me!?

I hope this is proper protocol for a fan post.

I’m a hybrid mess of feelings. Love the new aways and the old homes.

Love the 3rd jersey

with the full Shark. But the laces sealed the deal. Bought one right away.

I never got that orange outrage

AMGZHWFOORANGEINURJERSEY

I saw protests signs and everything. Crazy. It’s a few small stripes of orange, and as everyone knows, blue and orange are complementary colors.

I had a harder time getting used to the new shoulder design and even then, my only big issues was price and that the road jerseys are pretty see-thru.

Really dig the new black ones.

A few thoughts
  • I’m upset they eliminated silver (gray) from the palette, the color most associated with sharks
  • The teal and orange are complimentary, but not with my wardrobe
  • The neo-logo looks like origami
  • Does anyone else think “Batman: The Animated Series”?

was that batman

the newer one with hideous character design or the one from the 90s with Mark Hamil as the joker?

I like the bat-shark element. I think it’s a good modern adaptation of the original logo. Unlike the new Pepsi logo. Fug-city.

the new Batman

you mean The Brave and the Bold?

Pepsi’s logo isn’t that bad. But how about sunkist’s beastly logo?

What’s wrong with the new logo? It’s better than the all black shark that looked like it was from the 70’s.

I've always liked the away jerseys

Last season I didn’t like the home jerseys. After staring at the home jerseys for a very long time, I started to like them

I like the new logo.

It’s kinda like the new Camaro. They took a classic and made it look badass. I love the new black sweaters. I’m just not a fan of the orange. I always thought the gray looked better. The orange is too Ducks. That said I like the new teals better than the whites, just cause the orange stands out less.

Kinda like the new, always loved the old, warmed up to the in-between

While they were wearing them, I never really liked the 98-07 uniforms. But now that we’re a couple years out, I’m starting to like them much more. I have no idea why, though.

The new uniforms are okay, but I really liked them when they first premiered*. The stripe pattern just screams “hockey,” and they’re a nice homage to the originals (aside from the shoulder yoke, but I can overlook that).

The original uniforms, however, are by far my favorite. The lighter shade of teal, grey instead of silver, the snowy look of the whites, and the huge-ass lettering combine to create a look that can only mean one thing: Sharks hockey.

*Aside from the orange. I still hate the orange. BRING BACK GREY!

I just couldn't stand

that horrid black shark. the old uniforms weren’t bad, but that old school sharks logo was fat out ugly.

Speaking as a Graphic Designer...

I actually love the updated logo. It took a good thing and gave it a twist, without compromising its integrity. Frankly, it looks more like a vicious shark now, instead of a slightly awkward eel with slightly awkward fins. Also, the orange doesn’t bother me so much because there isn’t all that much of it, and there’s already orange in the hockey stick that the shark is biting. It wasn’t as if they introduced a completely new foreign color. That being said, the old silver looks good too.

Also, I don’t dig the diamond logo with the fin in water or the “SJ” logo. It’s too cartoon-y and unintimidating. I would have used a typeface with more character and attitude because right now, those two logos just look slapped on. Black is a powerful color. The logos on shoulders look wimpy.

I personally like the cool new black jersey.
When I’m in the Sharks store, that’s when I’ll decide which one will be my first Sharks jersey ever.
I love the black one, but seeing as Teal is the Sharks jersey… I probs should get that one.

I played a game on NHL 09 yesterday in the old jerseys...

And they look AWFUL. I really like the new ones, always have. I also love the diamond logo with the fin in it… I have it on the back window of my car.

When they first came out I thought they looked ugly

But I have warmed up to them. All the winning helps, (I have been to eight games so far and they are 8-0-0). I love the Black Armor jersey. I ordered the 3rd, (Black Armor) for my first Boyle jersey. Next for me is a little Joe jersey, (Pavs rules).

don't know why ya'll hate the orange

it compliments the teal perfectly and the logo looks really good with the orange eyes. Put silver eyes in there and you have a shark with some kind of horrid eye infection. I like the silver, but i don’t see the big deal about it. There’s not much orange, and what little there is looks better than silver. I mean orange jumps out at you like “Gahh!!!”. Silver’s just laid back like “yeah…….”

If you want to complain about people playing an ungodly amount of time,

that would be boyle and ehrhoff who racked up 30 and 25 minutes, joe and patty really didn’t play that much more time than they normally do.

I don't like you Detroit.
