Bakes wants to know,
when are the Sharks going to get angry?

yeah, but they aren’t mad. Or if they are, they aren’t directing that to good use. Which sucks.

They sure aren't playing like it

Are you saying that they’re playing with enough passion at the end of games? Cause I’m just not seeing it.
I know they’re pissed about how things have gone lately, I’m not questioning that. But have they shown heart when there is five minutes left on the clock? Passion?

better way to put it,
like i also said of course they are mad, everyone knows that
I don't like you Detroit.
Frustrated absolutely.
I’m just not sure there’s any anger in that locker room.

And those guys look like they’re frustrated. Really, really frustrated. Any kind of anger usually translates to some kind of energy, and it’s just not there.

honestly, I know everyone says they don’t care that much about the Presidents trophy, but if we give it up after being in pole position the whole season, I for one will be really disappointed

I think it would be better to avoid (theoretically) Calgary in the second round and go through Joe Louis in the WCF. Just my opinion.

The way they're playing, there won't be a second round.
Since the All-Star break they are ninth in the west. A lot of excuses about how banged up they are, but the first two lines have been healthy and they’ve provided the bulk of their scoring. I, for one, am plenty worried about how things are going.
As I said in the last thread.
This one’s on you Todd.

I agree. But it’s not like there is no one to play. McGinn, Staubitz, and Shelley are there. If you don’t trust them to play minutes, bring up someone else. Playing Thornton/Marleau for countless minutes is counter productive.
Fear the Fin: Approved by ESPN and Logan Couture
If you are going to dress them, you have to play them. I know there are injuries, but if they are dressed, they have to play.
Fear the Fin: Approved by ESPN and Logan Couture
Yeah, I liked him earlier in the year but his dumb penalties have been killer lately. He brings a good energy, but dressing both him and Shelley and giving them limited ice time makes no sense.

Honestly, it doesn’t help that we dress Shelley who only sees five minutes of ice time a night. I understand he fulfills that enforcer need, but he’s basically just wasting space out there.

superstitions...
i’ve tried wearing and not wearing my sharks shirt, sleeping and not sleeping in my sharks blanket, sleeping and not sleeping in my other sharks shirt, and wearing or not wearing my sharks socks. None of it is working. In other words this is somebody else’s fault and whoever it is you need to seriously get your wardrobe on trackman
You know what
as the author of “Who’s Superstitious”, I can tell you that I’ve done all that too…and I’m of the opinion that if these guys, who are making millions of dollars to play a game, cannot manage enough effort to win a game, then it doesn’t matter where or what you eat, or when you eat it. Or what you wear, to bed, in the shower, on the couch, or out to dinner. We can drink what we want, and buy it from whomever is at the counter. I’ve given up on the superstitious stuff. For tonight

I am mad.
I mean, I had a sinking feeling in my stomach all day that they were going to lose. I didn’t feel that the Minnesota game really exorcised all their demons (seriously, the only reason they won was because of a lucky bounce and the one time that Ehrhoff forgets that he’s not a forward and doesn’t fuck up), and I was right. The guys on the first two lines are either tired, or forgot how to score goals. Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a larger ratio of pucks not shot on net to pucks shot on net. And then the few that they did shoot on goal it was right on Mason’s chest. Seriously? I could block that.
Its just a frustrating situation. I’m not going to analyze it in-depth anymore, because I just have no idea what they’re doing wrong, besides playing tired and injured, but they can’t fix that. Maybe call up some of the top scorers in Worcester, I don’t know. Or those lines in the Minnesota game were working pretty well – how about McLellan uses those for another game or so to give three lines of solid offense and defense?
Alright gang....
This shitty play had better stop by Saturday at 7pm – losing to the Blues AND Kings is inexcusable.
Go Sharks – GO.
Fear The Fin = Anyone who doesn’t like fighting in the NHL can go watch poker on ESPN. [Jamie Baker]
Good night all
And my last post of the evening. It has occurred to me, we’re talking about playing Detroit, playing Calgary, winning the Presidents cup. You know what, it doesn’t matter if we play the Islanders, or the Hershey Fricking Bears; if we don’t score more than 1.2 goals per game, we’re not gonna win. So we can scream about Boosh, or the D, or mojo, or whatever; but we’re paying a LOT of money to our #1 and #2 lines to score goals, it’s put up or shut up time. We need 35, 40, 45 shots per game, consistently, especially heading into the playoffs, to account for the playoff-sick-Turco’s of the world. Especially if we end up playing that voodoo guy in Columbus. Let’s kick some Kings ass on Saturday!

Maybe it’s just a domino effect. Back up goalie, plus depleted defense, injured forwards = more conservative, discombobulated, lackadaisical style of play.
