Things got a little mixed at the FTF water cooler, which is why this gameday thread is lighter than Christian Bale in The Machinist.
Phoenix has played us well this season. Also, this is amazing.
Prediction: Sharks win 3-2. Goals by Ehrhoff, Roenick, and Michalek. Shane Doan has a pair for the Yotes', and once again proves that he is one of the most underrated Captains in the NHL.

jr scores against the yotes, you will hear the sound of retching all the way from phoenix…“jr sucks” is one of our favorite chants when you guys are in our house…yotes have played the sharks tough(beat the bruins, tied detroit, beat the sharks…but lost to sabres, islanders, and preds….wtf????) however, as an original sharks fan(i moved from socal to santa clara in 96), and watching them play at the cow palace and the shark tank, they are kinda my 1-b team…(one of my yotes buddies is from sj and goes by BleedinTeal in AZ). Jeff Odgers was my alltime fav shark…loved the nose and the grit…so i wish you guys well…except for tonight…one of my alltime favorite series in 40 years of being a hockey fan was watching the recent expansion sharks take it to the dedthings in the playoffs…classic david and goliath, an’ little davie scored big time….so, would not be too unhappy to see a cup in sj…good luck

Interesting take from Babcock……..He talked about the travel issue as well. This raises the inevitable conversation that happens every year, about teams that take a crap during the last week on purpose for playoff positioning, more because of who they don’t wanna play. If the playoffs started today, we’d have Nashville (why does this not surprise me) and Detroit would have Edmonton (who Babcock said they really don’t want to play because of the travel issue). So this begs the question, is winning the President (and having the corresponding home ice) more import that Frequent Flyer miles? How many years ago was it that the Sharks finished 5th, and the top 4 seeds lost in Round 1? hmmmm…… In addition to Detroit, the other interesting one to watch is in the East. Their “Columbus” is the Devils, and the Pens have already stated publicly they don’t want to play NJ in Round 1 (they would rather play the Caps)……this is where the watching gets fun!!

Penguins last season sitting Crosby on the final day against Philly comes to mind, but Therrien adamantly denied dropping that game to avoid facing the Flyers in the first round.

My dad won club seats in my brother’s middle school auction. I forget which section they’re in, but I know its row 16 somewhere. Either way, lower bowl!

the one has stuff on it, but that’s not a third ear. The stick has similar stuff on it which makes me think it’s a representation of feathers or some other appropriately south western item. His tail is the red brown triangular object between his arm and leg.

Buffalo giving him back up is basically nil considering they named him Captain and need him to anchor that blueline. He’s getting up there in age too, which makes it even less likely we’ll see him back in San Jose.

I watched it yesterday
and I think I spent the entire 10 minutes marvelling at the fact that as recently as 1990, they still were doing watercolor and color pencil illustrations like those. Also, the music and feel totally dated the piece. A perfect example of period history.

Tonight we face the Terrible terrible, tied for the league-lead in points, attrocious San Jose Sharks. They suck. Okay, well they don’t. But I still can’t stand their success as we miss the playoffs. Therefore, much like the inexplicable beatdown the Islanders (???) gave to the Red Wings last night, I want to see our guys go at these San Josers (pronounced like Hosers) like a friggin spider monkey!

For some reason
I’m not really into March Madness this year. Past years I filled out the brackets and everything but this year I watched about 10 minutes total of it. I’ve watched more Frozen Four than March Madness this year.
I think it’s because I’m still upset over Memphis last year. I had them winning in my bracket. If they won I would have got Skittles. SKITTLES! One stupid free throw made, I could have had Skittles!

Well I underestimated Grier, I thought he had way less goals. But still Staubitz has been skating pretty well, for a fourth-liner Staubitz even has a +1, if you care for the stat

It was meh, really. The injured zebra killed the energy, and the concert and Stelath game has made the ice crap. A wash, really, but in that case it’s a win for Phoenix since they got out of the period not behind.
