Tough to watch
I was excited as I am every year with the playoffs starting that I can stay up late here on the East Coast and watch the Sharks--man , what a disappointment this series is turning into. I agree with the comments about how listless and uninvolved the Sharks were in Game 4--every time they showed Thornton on camera, he had that vacant look.
Keith Jones on Versus said that Marleau is obviously still injured, and he and Engblom had a serious argument about Thornton during the long break when the glass had to be installed. Engblom was apologizing for Thornton while Jones was calling him out big-time.
I still believe the Sharks will win Game 5 at home in front of their fans--after that, it will take an incredible gut check to win Game 6 and force a deciding game back in SJ.
In all honesty, Anaheim is a very good Team right now--all 3 pairings on their D are playing stout, and their #1 line reminds me of of when Spezza, Alfredsson and Heatly were unstoppable two years ago for Ottawa. It turns out that the trades they made at the deadline for Ryan Whitney and James Wisniewski have worked out very well for them, whereas the Sharks moves haven't.
The Sharks played poorly the last 2 weeks in the regular season, and suddenly can't score goals. I also agree that Nabby is playing mediocre in goal--but it would help if his teammates stopped giving away the puck in their own zone.
