Worcester Sharks attemping to win their first round series tonight

While one set of Sharks have their backs against the wall tonight in an elimination game, another set looks to finish the Hartford Wolf Pack (New York Rangers affiliate) tonight in Game 6 of their best of seven series at the DCU Center in Worcester.

After dropping the first two games in Hartford, the Sharks have roared back with two wins at home (a 3-2 OT win and a 6-0 thrashing) and then a big victory in Hartford on Thursday to take a 3-2 games series lead.  Worcester's offense has been very balanced with 10 different players scoring goals - led by captain Ryan Vesce with 3.  However, I think the play of goaltender Thomas Greiss has been the most important and impressive of all - 1.69 GAA and a .933 save %.  He's only allowed more then 2 goals once in 5 games, registered 1 shutout and played fantastic in Game 5, stopping 27 of 28 shots, allowing just  1 goal on a PP in 3rd period after Worcester scored 3 first period goals to win 3-1.

The puck drops at 4:00pm pst, so hopefully one group of Sharks can progress to the second round of their playoffs and then senior club can re-discover their offensive flair and force a Game 6 of their own.

Go Sharks go (San Jose and Worcester)!
