Here at Fear The Fin, we pride ourselves on providing intelligent discourse for San Jose Sharks fans. Sure we have a fair amount of dick jokes wedged into the crevices of our material, but the root of our mission statement this offseason is simple- don't do anything rash and blow it up, because this team still has a window of opportunity. Not too high, not too low. If we got too low we'd be on the Golden Gate with three pounds of bricks strapped to our chest, and if we got too high we'd be all over that bag of Doritos by the way man can I have some they look so good- oh, we also like to digress.
But I, well, yeah. But I digress.
For the next two days, fuck all that. The second round is here and we're deprived of some damn fine heartbreak. Scream all you want, throw out some ludicrous trades, yell about the lack of "heart" and "will to win", call for some heads, blame Claude Lemieux for turning the Hockey Gods against us. Act like you're the bearded lady at the goddamn county fair for all I care.
In fact, I'll start.
THIS TEAM HAS NO GODDAMN HEART! TRADE JOE FOR A BAG OF PUCKS!!!!1!!

but according to WTC, marleau’s MCL plus
Rob Blake — foot contusion, 10 days, MRI possible.
*Jonathan Cheechoo — MCL sprain, left knee, 22 days.
*Travis Moen — hip contusion, 8 days.
*Douglas Murray — left shoulder may need MRI, acts like mild rotator cuff strain.
*Evgeni Nabokov–strained hip muscle (gluteus medius), 13 days.
*Joe Pavelski — knee contusion, 4 days.
*Devin Setoguchi — mild ankle swelling by Achilles tendon.
*Jody Shelley — possible MRI for neck and shoulder soreness.
*Joe Thornton–groin/hip flexor, 63 days.

hip flexor
In that case, I’m sure it affects the speed. I bet it hurts like the dickens, too. If I’m thinking correctly, that timing corresponds with the first game against Anaheim, right? Where he had absolutely no scoring to support?
As for the rest of the list, besides a couple of bruises and general soreness issues, there are some things that pique my interest. With Joe hurt for two months, that matches up pretty well with the scoring slump the team went through.
hip flexor
It helps you move your leg forward when walking or running. It also helps you kick.

There's gonna be alot of analysis down the road from us...
I just don’t think Plank and I are ready to come to terms with another exit. We know it happened, we’re pissed, but hell… that doesn’t really help anything.
If I tried to write something substantial right now, it would probably end up looking like a Purd… no, it wouldn’t be that bad. But maybe. No, it wouldn’t.

You are much better than the crap heads at the Merc (besides Pollak)
Seriously, I can read FTF stuff without wanting to stab the computer screen, which right there is infinitely better than anything Purdy, Kawakami, ect. put out. For one thing, everyone here knows the basics of hockey. And does not resort to some little Spanglish phrase to legitimatize themselves. And you guys actually care the whole year, and not just during the playoffs/whenever the team is in a slump which means they suck and its not like they have 9 players injured or anything god/none of the other sports teams in the area are playing including college stuff so they need something to fill space because they already exhausted golfing and tennis and NASCAR.
oh
I thought we were still talking like crazy people. So… yeah….
I love you guys. You’re the bestt.
I had fun watching the Sharks, point of being a fan right?
Please someone tell me we’re better than the crap heads at the Merc (besides Pollack).
Why do you think I come here? I mean besides the fantastic company and willingness to out up with my tangents. It’s FTF and Pollak for me. Anything else is likely to piss me off, and really, I don’t need that. Sensible analysis and a willingness to laugh at the crazy world that is professional sports is what I want and here, it’s what I get.

So, hey
Anyone else feel that small earthquake a few minutes ago? It was just a 3.6 and a small jolt, but still. Got my dog barking.
is that what that was?
I thought I was just a tad dizzy.

I didn't
But that might explain the pets freaking out recently.

I was in Eureka for the Ferndale quake somewhere around 1980, Candestick in 1989, and Napa in 2001

I haven’t felt a disastrous one that would traumatize me yet.
Great I just jinxed it and there’s gonna be a huge one tomorrow…
I had fun watching the Sharks, point of being a fan right?
didn’t feel anything here at work in Emeryville

Okay
I need your guys veteran hockey fanship advice.
Remember that kid I talked about the other day? Well he got this other kid to start thinking the same ideas. My Facebook homepage is full of “alexander semin for milan” and “patrick marleau for kovalchuck.” They say these trades will happen because they’re gonna be unrestricted free agents.
How the hell do I ignore this and not call them idiots?!!
I had fun watching the Sharks, point of being a fan right?
Yeah
Or just call them idiots…I mean, that’s what I’d do….but I’m not known (nor have I ever been known) for my tact

Very good advice
but I figure they’ll forget who Patrick Marleau is in two days. If not they’re IDIOTS!
Besides they stopped. for now…
I had fun watching the Sharks, point of being a fan right?
Yeah
same here but it’s never gonna happen was my point

it was in reference to his tact comment
but I obviously like you all well enough, since I’m here all the time ;)

Could we package Ehroff and Michalek for Marty St. Louis?
Tampa might be dumb enough to take Ehroff. Plus, I think we might actually clear some cap space if we do that.
St. Louis is turning 34 this summer, and we’re going to have to go through a slight rebuild in roughly two years or so. I don’t think moving Error and Milan is out of the question, but picking up an aging vet in return doesn’t make much sense to me.
We want a guy like 27-30, i.e. a guy who’s going to provide value five years from now.
Fear The Fin: Where Selling Your Soul Is The Likely Solution
Younger would also be fine, I guess what I’m trying to say is I wouldn’t want Wilson to sacrifice the future in order to pursue the present. We’ve done enough of that up to this point.

I wouldnt want St. Louis
He puts up decent numbers, but I think the Sharks need someone bigger than my eight year old niece.
If we really want a little guy,
we’ve already got Vesce. He may not put up St. Louis type numbers, but he’s younger.

That's what DW should do!
Just bring up the whole Worcester roster! TCY wouldn’t know what to do with himself then.
