They're not that hard to make...
It just takes forever and because it’s a big production it’s best to make like 50 at a time… but we make em’ a little different than in Mexico.

see the “Marleau-for-Drury” scuttlebutt over on Puck Daddy? I must say I liked the thought of Drury on the team when DW was pursuing him a while back, but I fail to see this as an even trade. Maybe Drury and a pick, or Drury and a prospect, but I don’t think Drury would approach or equal the scoring Marleau brings. But that’s just me.

I know he wasnt the best Shark to grace the ice, but he deserved a few more games than two.
Maybe the Sharks didnt offer him a deal and playing in Hartford was the best deal he got offered.
Either that or it really revealed the Sharks’ lack of depth after the big name players/rookies who kept having these amazing debuts.

Just got off work, haven't seen one second of hockey all week
and I’ve got my (imaginary) money on the Nucks and Ducks.

The Coyotes just filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy (!!!), which nullifies the lease agreement they have with Glendale and the franchise can now be bought and moved away from Phoenix. Jim Balsille is rumored to be interested in buying the team and moving it to Ontario.
Not only does that completely suck for all those Yotes fans who have been sticking with the franchise through the tough times (both on the ice and off), but it also screws up the league’s alignment as well. The West will need another team (assuming that the new Ontario team with be in the East) and there will be quite a few divisions that will need realignment. The Pacific Division will probably add either the Canucks or Avs, which will make the already awful divisional travel that much worse.
But none of that compares to how much it would suck if you were a Yotes fan. As a fan of non-traditional market team as well, I really do feel for them. It sucks, especially if the team is moved thousands of miles away. And because elitist “traditional” market fans say that they didn’t deserve the team anyways.

For us, it may not be that bad. Its still a few hundred miles farther than Phoenix is, but that’s not that much of a difference in terms of air travel. Plus, same time zone. That’s always a good thing. However, its around 3,000 miles from Dallas to Vancouver, which would absolutely suck for division road trips. Colorado would make things more box-ish, and would be more fair to Dallas.
Either way, this whole situation sucks.

But yeah, it completely sucks for Phoenix. If they get a buyer quick enough, the franchise could be somewhere completely different next season. The last home game they had this year could be the last game played in Phoenix, period.

And situations like this make me incredibly grateful for the massive amounts of support the Sharks have had pretty much every year since their inception. I don’t think we’ve ever had to worry about the Sharks being relocated, even in the dark days of 71 losses and the uncertainty of having a winning season.

Usually one mention of the attendance numbers tends to shut them up.
And I’ve actually seen a lot less disdain for the Sharks than for the two SoCal teams and most of the SE division. The continued on-ice regular season success for the franchise as well as the strong community support and lots and lots of rich high-tech companies to pay for advertisements and luxury boxes helps as well.

all over this. This whole thing started after Balsillie tabled an offer to pay off all the Coyotes’ creditors, so long as he can move the team. Unless Bettman can manage to find enough money to outbid him, no way a bankruptcy judge doesn’t take that offer. A kid at my school was killed by a drunk driver a month ago. And freshman year a kid I knew was killed in a hit and run by a drunk driver.

I used to never think Drunk driving was as dangerous as it is. It wasn’t only til’ a few weeks ago when Nick Adenhart, Angel’s pitcher, was killed by drunk driving. It effected me way more than I expected. I mean I watched him pitch one night and when I wake up in the morning the first thing I see is “Nick Adenhart killed.”
