19 Forwards though...

so 7 aren’t going to get regular time. Here’s hoping JoePa impresses the U.S. staff and wins a starting spot.

Pavelski!

Okay, so we know that Kane, Parise, and Kesler are pretty much locks for the forwards, and we might have to throw in Ryan as well. I could see Pavelski getting in as the third or fourth line center.

Image at the top of the U.S. Olympic team site...

Looks like they think pretty highly of him, if he leads the story.

Gotta say, I really dig the simplicty of the US jerseys this tine around. They could lose the side striping on the back, but I’m a fan of everything else.

Wish more teams in the NHL (erhem) would look at a more simplistic approach.

Unrelated, but Glen Sather actually got rid of a bad contract- Gomez headed to Montreal.

Only the Habs and their $33M in cap space could afford to absorb that contract.

Ryan McDonagh (who was sent to the Rangers) also sounds like a top notch blueliner. Glen Sather- hockey genius?

Eh, probably too far.

It's trades like these

That make the Sharks woes not seem so bad.

Heh, and make that earlier proposed deal for a Drury-Marleau swap sound like absolute anarchy.

If that happened I might just retire from blogging.

Either that, or Bob Gainey is really stupid. I vote for this.
