Yeah, this thread is going up almost 48 hours ahead of time - I'm getting ready to leave on my summer trip, and I don't want to forget about this in the midst of my personal craziness.
Also, this could be the final game of the season. While I certainly hope that it's not, this could be the last gameday thread until September (preseason). It's been great chatting with you all, and though I won't be around this summer (unless I log in from Mother Russia), Plank and TCY will undoubtedly have you happy and well fed with Sharks roster shakeup news and discussion.
I hope this "goodbye for the summer" of sorts is premature (i.e. - GAME 7, PLEASE) - but given how Detroit slaughtered the Penguins in Game 5, I'm beginning to feel pessimism.
All the same - GO PENS.

But then I switched majors mid-way. Let’s just say they were happy I didn’t decide to pursue medicne, as originally expected. 5 and 1/2 years was a blessing.

I miss the naps during the day, endless Street Fighter Two tournaments, watching The Howling when hammered, I could go on, and on.

had a different experience than I did. Naps? Watching movies? More like up all night frantically trying to complete the mountain of projects you have by the light of the TV, which is stuck on golf or some terrible lifetime movie. Or in the case of one of my roommates, Golden Girls reruns.

actually, far from it. Pre med major for the first 2 years, triple major for the next three.
HOWEVER. I did feel like my college years were some of my best. I really came into my own.
Just saying that you’ll have a good time. Don’t worry about the school part, because I doubt that’ll be what you remember most.
And oh yeah, don’t think you have to drink to be social.

arts are different
I went to an intense music school and had the same experience. I found ways to “experience” college but was frowned down upon by my peers. It was expected that we would all spend at least 4 hours a day in the practice rooms and not have much fun. I’m definitely glad I made time to socialize (i.e. drink Natty Boh Ice, meet cute boys, make friends) but the music (and art) world is super, super competitive and I think they were just getting us prepared for a cut-throat career/life…

that and the instructors really honestly feel that they each are teaching you something that is more important that ANY OTHER CLASS, and they don’t get why you can’t spend 16-32 hours a week doing work outside of class for each studio class you’re taking.
I think I once added up the suggested work time outside of class, combined it with my classes and found they expected us to work a 120 hr week. I was not amused.
This isn’t to say we didn’t goof off. We did. The animation building was open all night and was the scene of much debauchery. Don’t sit on the couch. Trust me.

I just want to shut out the days where I was chained to my computer, in the basement of a damp house, unshaven, a bit mental and frantically typing.
Also, the big favourite in our house was watching Diagnosis Murder with Barry and Dick Van Dyke. We would often all be home at 2:30 to make sure we caught what was happening. Diagnosis Murder eventually got shelved for Quincy which I wasnt as keen on.

But it is the last time you’ll be in that sort of setting, unless you chose to continue on the grad school. Enjoy it and the freedom that comes with it. Just remember to study.

It doesn’t really correlate except that the Avs were down 2-3 and won it.

I first read it in sixth grade because my friends showed it to me (and performed it during lunch for fun), so it might just be because I had some weird friends. But really, its one of the all-time classic skits. Everyone should hear/read it at some point in their lives.

they will play until both teams collapse. with no availible skaters, both teams are forced to forfeit. but to decide a winner, the NHL says that game 7 ends in a tie and force a game 8.
