Who Is Your Captain For Next Season?
Everybody can make a good point for their case, but who should wear the "C"? And it can be Marleau if you think he won't be traded. I think it should be Danny Boyle(still having Marleau on the team) because he has won a Cup and it seems other teams with their number one D-man as their captain do well. Like Nick Lidstrom, Scott Niedermayer, and the list goes on and on. So! Who is your captain????

Mine would have to be Pavelski. Granted, he hasn’t had that kind of experience but he did wear the Alternate Captain’s “A” last year when Grier was injured and I read a report when Todd McClellan said that he thinks Pavs would make a great future Captain. Why not now?
This should be a comment in this thread. Fanposts are meant for users to lay out an opinion based off much more than a couple of sentences.
Not trying to be a dick, but please put a little more effort into your piece if you are going to Fanpost it.

No problem man. We’re just trying to keep the site as clean as possible. The reason we want you to post in the other thread is because you obviously have some stuff to add, and therefore would further stimulate discussion in a thread that has already… “matured”. It’s easier to get responses in that thread than in this one where no discussion has taken place. Get what I’m saying?
Again, thanks for taking the time to post. Just pick your spots broseph.

Sorry if I came off harsh (and I know you’re fairly new here), but we had an issue with Fanposts a couple weeks ago.
Feel free to post anything that isn’t being discussed, however. Glad to have you on board, SharksFan91.

It was some Red Wing fan. I think he thought FTF was the actual SBN site. Either that or he… Actually I don’t even know. it was interesting though.

Boyle Captain
He is the only guy on the team beside Doug Murray who showed up last year against Aanheim..Now Marleau was hurt, so he gets somewhat of a pass..
Whoever made Marleau captain, doesn’t know what that “C” really stands for..The “C” is for an intense, driven leader who will get in other players faces when they need it, he will set the tone for the rest of the team..
Boyle is the only one that can do that..Marleau and Thornton are not leaders..They don’t have the intensity of character to be leaders..They are quiet boy followers..One of the main reason why this team has failed miserably in the playoffs is this lack of intensity and leadership coming from the “C”
from the wiki
With the departure of five-year captain Owen Nolan following the 2002–03 season, the Sharks employed a rotating captaincy for the first half of the 2003–04 NHL season, seeing Mike Ricci, Vincent Damphousse and Alyn McCauley wear the ‘C’ before the captaincy was permanently awarded to Marleau at the mid-way part of the season. When coach Ron Wilson initially rotated the captaincy to Marleau, previous captain Alyn McCauley advised him to leave it with Marleau.[citation needed] The new captain went on to match his previous personal high of 57 points from 2002–03.

So apparently former captain McCauley knows nothing of what it takes to be a captain.
