Kessel+Sharks=No More Cheechoo???

Well now since Doug Wilson FINALLY made a trade, the Sharks have some cap to play around with. They have just re-signed Torrey Mitchell and Brad Staubitz. And the latest reports and rumors state that the Sharks are going after Phil Kessel. And signing Kessel would be a smart move and a more likely move to happen than trading for Danny Heatley. And IF Phil Kessel goes to the Sharks I can't see Kessel and Cheechoo being on the same team (just because of cap and the lines). And since Marleau got his title of captian stripped it seems like it has been a domino effect of moves going on. So to all of the Sharks fans- Do you see Kessel going to the Sharks? Is Cheechoo the next to go? And are you also going crazy for hockey season to finally start?!

am i crazy for hockey season? yes and no. i’m excited, but i’m a giants fan first. i can wait for hockey season as long as the giants are playing.

is a goner. but i dont know how i feel about giving up all of those picks for kessel. i dont think he’ll be on the sharks as much as i want to see him there

but $5M+ is a lot to ask for. I’d be happy if DW could get him in the $4M range.

I ran the numbers on CapGeek and talked about it here- not sure if moving Cheechoo and bringing on Kessel gets you under the cap.

I was reading on espn that the sharks are the #1 team really pushing for Kessel now. So mabe a deal could get done soon??? I can’t wait for fantasy hockey it sounds like fun!

Cheech is gone

I overheard (i was listening closely actually) the majority owner of the sharks express his displeasure of Cheech’s performance last year a couple months back. He said Cheech didnt look like he belonged in the AHL. I dont want to see him go but all signs point to him being shown the door.

How much time is Kessel going to miss?

I know he’s hurt but I don’t know how long he will be out. If he is only going to miss a month I would do it, (for 4-4.5 mil) but if he will miss half the season I would rather spend that money on a couple of Pyatt, Perrin, M A Bergeron, McLean and so on, (you could sign any three of these for what you pay Kessel). I might want the package over Kessel any way.

I posted this before I found out TCY’s wet dream signed with the Yote’s. Replace Pyatt with any of Gratton, Ouellet, Malhotra or Seidenberg, (you can tell I have not givin this any thought).

Side note: would anyone here be intrested in signing Derek Armstrong?
