Gonna miss his celebrations too. I think my favorite (and last) Cheechoo memory was when he deked out Scott Niedermayer in Game 2. Made the best d-man in the league look like an idiot.

My favorite Shark
so I will always think of him as one. I hope he has success in Ottawa and I will be rooting for him and Milan and Ottawa. I think the Sharks traded away a great talent and character.
I've been at work aaaall day
Since right after the trade was announced. Luckily I was busy enough that I was focused on the tasks at hand and not mulling over the trade. Now that I’m home, I’ve been trying to catch up – not sure I can bring myself to watch this vid just yet, as I LOVED Cheechoo (the dude was also a diehard A’s fan from Moose Factory, Middle of Nowhere. Much <3 )
I created this vid for Ricci, what seems like forever ago. When it was made, I sobbed more than the first time I watched The Shawshank Redemption (Brooks was Here). It’s funny looking back on it, as Reech has since returned to Teal Town. Maybe one day Cheech will re-join the Sharks in some capacity.
Best of luck Ashley and Jonathan. Enjoy Ottawa!

And a quick pic
From last year’s match against Ottawa – the Cheechoo clan was out in full force:

(I think the Sharks won 2-1)

I remember that pic.
In Ottawa you say? The Cheechoo clan can watch him more! See DW didn’t care about the Dany Heatley part of the deal, he just wanted to bring Cheechoo where he rightfully belonged… right?
Man, that was emotionally manipulative...
…in the best way possible. I’ll miss the way he celebrated each goal as if he had never scored before and the way I always knew at least once or twice a game he’d end up face down on the ice.
“Did he get tripped?”
“No It’s just Cheechoo.”
Most of all I’ll miss my ability to have the naive belief that the team I loved cheering for the last few years would always be together. It felt kind like this after the Joe Trade, but Cheech started playing for the Sharks as I was becoming a fan and he was part of what kept me with the team.
Dammit, I feel like I’m writing a eulogy. Best of luck in Ottawa little buddy. They better treat you right there.
My video is getting ripped apart by the Heatley haters on YouTube
I don’t think anyone gets that it is kind of a joke.

Youtube commenters are weird
I once had a guy rip apart one of my videos for not including stuff about France and Napoleon. Another guy said he would bang all the girls that sang in the video, including the “fat chick.”
I just assume that all of them have IQs under 100 and leave it at that.

love the video
I was away all day yesterday and am still coming to grips with everything. Although I am psyched about Heatley, I feel sadness about Cheechoo. One of my favorite players ever – can’t help but agree with Swisher in hoping that he’ll one day come back to the Sharks and retire here…
P.S. Hey DW – getting rid of another player of color? Really? You better keep your tanned hands off of Seto and Joslin or you and I will be having some words…
you got my text yesterday about the trade
right? I was in a spotty signal location. I think I sent TCY the same message twice by accident

i am still at a loss for words
Although i am elated that we got heater without giving up patty. i am still sad that cheech is no longer a member of team teal. I know he still has great numbers left in him. I am grateful for the times cheech gave the sharks and i wish him luck with the sens. TCY great movie bro, last part was sad
Great video
But you neglected to include this goal.

Great goal.

Great goal, and it just saddens me we only have two guys from that conference finals run left.

Love the goal against Montreal for a couple years ago
That whole game was pretty great actually, same night Campbell scored the spinorama goal.
