Off the Post September 14 - Evening Edition
- We got sum guy whose supost to be reely good and skor lotz of goles. Nevr herd of him untill now beecuz it nevr snoews hear wich meens I dont undrstand hocky.
- Plank vows to swear off sex, because it will take too much time away from NHL 2010, while TCY wrings teardrops from our eyes with his farewell video to Jonathan Cheechoo.
- Silver Seven has a convenient database of Dany Heatley trade commentary (hey look, he even includes us!).
- The NHL preseason begins tonight as the Vancouver Canucks host the New York Islanders, beginning at 7:00pm PST. Open thread here.
- Speaking of tonight, Jonathan Cheechoo should be in Ottawa right about now... Milan Michalek, on the other hand, is having a minor hangup with his Canadian work visa, which will delay him until tomorrow at the earliest. Leave it to the Canadians to keep Milan in *Czech* (groan...).
- Speaking of Jonathan Cheechoo, he stands a good chance of being on Jason Spezza's line. Oh, and he's now sporting attire that will put a crack in your teal heart.
"[Milan Michalek] was maybe the most skilled player we had here and I feel he will be a dominant player when he puts it all together. He has shown us all what he can do when he is on."

And before anyone chides me
Yes, I see the irony of dissing Fleury after previously welcoming someone as infamously pesky as Claude Lemieux on our team.

(pouts) Someone needs to tell them that Cheech belongs to US! He’s on temporary loan. (yeah yeah, I’m still dealing with it here)

It's like I told my friend
who is also in denial of losing one of our hockey hotties…
I barely just got over the Sharks dealing Jeff Friesen. It takes time. 10 years ought to do it.
Well that, or the “Cheechoo” screenprinting wears off the back and they assign 14 to somebody else who wins a RR trophy… I don’t think any of those are going to happen soon, so my brother has a lot of suffering to endure I’m afraid.

Hey, my son is still dealing with the Giants trading Mike Aldrete. What’s that been, 20 years?

The Puck Daddy linkage is a pretty selective group (of which I am a part of because my completely off-hand, wrote-in-five-minutes take on the Tampa Bay situation, lol).

Hint
Write something extremely topical. Like, if it comes out that only one of a duo of owners can actually own the team, quickly churn out an article about how this situation came to pass, and how messed up the franchise is as a whole.
Also, ignore anything about the Sharks. They don’t exist.

I believe the reason the Tank didn’t get 100% attendance this year was because of election night vs. the Minnesota Wild, when there were a hundred or so seats left. Every other game was a sell-out.
Therefore, I blame politics.

I’m somehow related to Hayes. He’s like my great-great-great uncle once removed or some crazy shit like that. That’s pretty much the only reason why I know he was a president.

Although, how my 6 month old kitten is somehow your great-great-great uncle once removed or some crazy shit like that is beyond me.
Are you related to my other 6 month old kitten, Grover Cleveland?

Yeah, maybe your kitten was reincarnated or cloned or something.
And I don’t think I’m related to Grover Cleveland, sorry. Although he was the only president to have two non-consecutive terms!

Seriously. Getting 32% of the vote when there are 9 other choices? That’s amazing. Shows just how many people are wetting their pants at the thought of Thornton plus Heatley along with the rest of the Sharks roster.

Speaking of Michalek..
JR goes a step further, and openly criticizes Milan’s work ethic.
Milan will thrive in Ottawa because of the mentality the Senators play with offensively. Milan’s everyday work ethic must be more consistent because there is no hiding from the Canadian media. He is one of the most talented players I have played with so he could thrive anywhere. I love this trade for the Sharks and Senators.
Interesting outlook. This may explain why Milan deflates in the spring.
Awesome link!
I think San Jose is the team to beat in the West again. I feel that they are stronger team this year than last year, so I hope the boys are still pissed off and embarrassed at what happened last April, God knows I am!!
Man I miss JR – but he’s still gunning for us!
