San Jose State Spartans Hockey Season Starts TONIGHT @ Sharks Ice San Jose

This is the Spartans opener, and it kicks off at 8:00 PM at Sharks Ice in San Jose.

For those of you who don't know, my good friend Sam Cimino (SirSnipesalot, on these boards), will be making his debut with the team. He'll be wearing 40.

I'll be at the game, and I hope to see some of you there. It's quality hockey, and some of the SJ Sharks have been known to stop by.

I was just searching CL for a cheap seat to tonight’s Sharks/Ducks preseason match – but I may just opt for SJSU instead. I see they’re hosting Loyola-Marymount. I’m surprised they’re not starting the campaign w/ another crazy heated series vs USC (next weekend)

Also, no CAL on the schedule : (

I was just about to add that I noticed K.Dutra on the roster. AND NOW
I FEEL OLD. I was roommates and good friends with his older sister Dana back when I went to SJSU. His older brother John played D for the Spartans nearly a decade ago. I remember him as a little kid running around the Dutra house…

The Dutras are the soul reason I’m the crazy hockey fan I am today. If I recall right (my memory is shoddy), my first LIVE hockey game was SJSU vs CAL and there was a fight on the ice and in the stands – good times! Then, they took me to see the Sharks back in 2000-01 and I was hooked.
