Just to keep things in perspective...
The Sharks had their full roster on the ice tonight while Anaheim was missing Getzlaf (injured), Selanne, Lupol, Koivu, Niedermayer, Giguere and Hiller. Not trying to take anything away from the Sharks cause they did what you’d expect them to do against the team they were against, but I wouldn’t read too much into this other then Dougie Murray’s absolutely dominating performance in all three zones.

And wasn't it the reverse situation on Monday...
.. yet the Ducks only won 3-2.
In the end, who cares, yes. It’s the preseason. But, nice to see the guys finally break out the offense

Oh come on now. It’s obvious Murray is looking at a 30 goal year.

Douglas Freaking Murray!!!
Nice to see the new guys pitch in
PREPAREDNESS_Because those goddamn zombies aren’t going to kill themselves
other then a few turns over in our own zone, he made a ton great break out passes and he was constantly skating with his head up instead of fighting the puck.

He didn’t seem that comfy in the offensive angle last Saturday, but I’m glad he grew into it. I am very serious about getting a Murray jersey – a teal one, not black armor.
Jon Casey fan since '84
his confidence on the puck this year is pretty outstanding. He should be a very solid partner with Boyle.
Oh, so that's where you edit your signature
he was wearing it last night (along with Blake and Boyle), Mac has stated how strong of a locker room presence he’s been and he looked like a leader beyond just the goals last night. Not sure if he will to start, but he’s definitely a possibility to say the least.

I'm sad I missed this
Although. I did enjoy getting periodical text updates from my dad that contained messages like, “CRANKSHAFT!!” and “F the Ducks!” and “CRANKSHAFT HATTY!!!!!!” His favorite player is Murray, so he was understandably pretty happy tonight.
Instead, I went to Universal Studios and flipped off the Dodgers store. It was pretty fun.

Fools and Sages
i had a soccer game at Evergreen tonight and after the game I looked at my phone and it said the Sharks were up 4-0 in the second period. Then I look at who scored the goals and I see Crankshaft has 2 and I run to my buddy who’s a Ducks fan and I show him the score and start chanting “Murray! Murray!” he just laughed and walked away. Then on the way home I got another alert and again, Crankshaft gets the hat trick and Seto puts the cherry on top :D What a great night! (except for the fact that we lost 2-1 lol) Go Sharks!
"Chocolate?! This is doo-doo baby!"
So I said to myself
It’s the preseason, nothing great will happen, I can skip this game.

But did anyone else see that Rob Niedermayer went to his brother’s old team?

I was following the box score of this
I was surprised that Douglas Murray got the first goal, with Heatley’s assist…. then when he got the second I was shocked. A goal each by Malhotra and Clowe, and then I passed out from exhaustion (great Manic Street Preachers concert last night – but you pay the price the next day for such fun).
Wake up this morning to prepare for FTF Invitational 2 drafting, and lo and behold what do I see? Murray completed his hat trick. Outstanding stuff.
Time to track down the video….

does everyone else realize
that Murray scored more goals in this game than in his entire NHL career (including playoffs)?
ayup
which is why I went nuts when he got the hatty last night.

haha yes.
When Dougie scored the third I said to my sister, “I think Dougie matched his career goal totals.” When I got home and I saw his career goal totals (including playoffs) was 2 I laughed.
Wow. FTF has been slow....
Hello?
helloooo, hellooo, helloooo [/echo]
Here’s a story from Aftonbladet
Crankshaft quotes, rough translation (thanks Google!):
On playing with Boyle (whom he thanks for his success)…
“It becomes easy when you play with him. He creates so much space. Yes, (a hat trick) is fun. I only wish it had happened in the regular season, or even better during the playoffs.”
Response to not recording a goal in 75 games last season…
“Hehe, nah, but the puck bounced wrong so many times last season that this was well compensated.” he says with a laugh.
About getting bounced early in the playoffs…
“It took a while to get over, but it has also given motivation. I’ve trained well this summer and think I’m in really good shape for the season.”

I think “fault” has the wrong connotation. I think it’s more of a blessing.
Also, this is awesome. Warning: scary clown mask.
