Just as I learned minutes ago that there was nothing imminent on the San Jose trade front, Carolina GM Jim Rutherford told the Raleigh News & Observer that there would be no Wallin trade.

Actually only 30 minutes from this Tweet from the N&O beat reporter. We were wondering why no one else had confirmed….

Oopsie my math is wrong

but still! I’m going crazy over here.

And a interesting tweet of note:

Wallin did not waive the no-trade clause, indicating the terms were not fully to his liking.

All the ME2 goodness and you’re sporting Star Wars symbols?

Bet you can’t wait for Lucas to re-release the original trilogy (again) but this time in 3d…

Star Wars is so much better, although I love ME.

In a very SW mood, though, since I drove 2 hrs in traffic to Berkeley to get the last two pair of Skywalker’s in the country.

Dude, I don’t even care about any of the new ones. The fact is that the orig. trilogy was a huge part of my childhood and stuck with me. I usually don’t go a month without watching one of the trilogy.

Not me, but then again, I hate the fact that somehow Ewoks were beating Storm Troopers… I probably don’t have a solid view of things… I still love the rest of the original trilogy and hate most of the prequels.

I liked episode III, mostly because I thought Ewan McGreggor played a mean Obi Wan.

1 and 2 were garbage, but 3 had it’s moments. If they were all as good as 3, people wouldn’t be so pissy about it.

I thought the same about McGreggor. Casting was perfect in that instance.

And I agree that 2 blew chunks. But I thought 1 was decent. It couldn’t live up to standards, but it was decent.

Jar Jar ruined what was an otherwise good movie. The lightsaber battle from the first still stands as the best fight in any of the 6 movies.

by Evilducks on Feb 5, 2010 3:30 PM PST up reply actions

the shock of Qui-Gon dying was a pretty good move. Punched everyone in the face that the Jedi were not invincible.

That said, the Anakin/Obi-Won fight was my favorite. I mean, I even got tired watching them battle. Appropriate way for the battle to end, too, IMO.

by ruben398 on Feb 5, 2010 5:12 PM PST up reply actions

Same here

The dialogue is weak, but better than 1&2. Hayden Christianson finally got to, you know, be a bad guy. Best fight scenes, both lightsaber and space, of the entire series.

Overall, I would place it on par with #6, but 1 and 2 fall off a lot after that. 5 is awesome, and 4 is great.

by ruben398 on Feb 5, 2010 5:09 PM PST up reply actions

Ep 3 had it’s moments, but overall I walked out of the theater disappointed. The fight between Obi Wan and Anakin was about the only time I felt I actually saw good acting and storytelling.

For what will be a very long time, every time I hear someone say “secret weapon” I will think of Nic Wallin. That’s pretty much what this accomplished. It will make a great Sharks trivia question for hardcore fans about 4 years from now.

I’m proud of DW for not caving to this guy’s demands. Wallin’s heart was obviously set on something other than winning the Cup this year.
