I can go to an ESPN Zone anywhere. They are cool, though. Haven’t spent much time in the Palazzo, so I might have to check it out at some point. After the game I’m headed over to Blondie’s at PH for the Pacquiao-Clottey fight. 20 dollar cover with unlim beer (or so I’m told). Can’t beat that!

I knew that, but I didn’t know that they were going to the club national championships. I always assumed the uni would only be consistently good at judo.

SJSU HOCKEY
During the lockout, a large group of hockey fans followed the team to Detroit for the National tourney. They were certainly underdogs (and constantly heckled for being from sunny California). In the first game, they faced Penn State. If I recall right, the SJSU goalie stopped more than 50 shots on route to an epic overtime win by the team’s captain. It was AMAZING. They dropped the next two games to fall short of the championship, but it was an incredible run during a lost NHL season.
It should also be noted that Jamie Baker was in contact with the Spartan captain, providing words of encouragement throughout. At time, Bakes worked coaching an ACHA club in Arizona. Great story. Good times.

The Panthers are the 3rd worst team in goals for (only Boston and Edmonton w/ less). And here I thought we had a good chance at witnessing a shutout for a Sharks goalie, but noooooooo. Darnitall.

So I’ve decided the best way to cope with an embarassing Sharks loss is to go to the Bellagio buffet and dine on Kobe beef, Ostrich, Rack of Lamb, Duck Breast, and Lobster stuffed ravioli. Things look much better on this side of a full stomach…
Sigh, man, team needs to get their shit together, tho. Hopefully they can bounce back tomorrow in Anaheim.

The Kobe beef was very good, don’t get me wrong. But the ostrich was just to die for. It was all definately better than what I’ll probably get to have for dinner tomorrow night, when I get home to boring San Jose :-P
