Thank You Mr Ovechkin
So most informed fans have become aware of the Ovechkin/Campbell incident the other day. From my point of view, AO did us quite a favor.
Let me clarify that I am not an advocate of one player injuring another for whatever reason. But if I had to pick a player that I would want out for the rest of the season and into the playoffs from the 'Hawks it would go Kane and Johnny-boy easily number one and two, but then Brian Campbell. Quite possibly the glue that holds that team together, the former Shark is out for the remainder of the season. The Blackhawks will be missing him most on the powerplay, as he was a "quarterback" of sorts-their Dan Boyle. I can't help but think that our path to the number 1 seed just got a wee bit easier...

I think we need to worry about players on ice!
Agreed, in the six degrees of seperation, this could benifit us.
However, I wont admit that till we are in a Playoff Series with the Hawks.
Which since the roady before the all-star break, we have played Flat and inconsistant. That worries me more! if a Thug has to Slam one of our guys (ala Nichol) into the boards to get us to play well, then we must be lacking that Edge, that Fire.
Thats something I look for in a Game, we need to play that way for 60 min… or at least 45min.
Want it Sharkies… Want it more than the Fans on this Blog!!!
I don’t think I’ll be sending congratulations his way just yet. What if our easy road to #1 seed in the conference gets us into a matchup with another hot team that jumps up into the #8 seed for the first round while Chicago lines up against a team that just fell back a few spots?

In that case, I’d rethink the title of this fanpost.
And, quite frankly, Chicago has already shown this season they can win games while they have key injuries. Brian Campbell’s injury has nothing to do with our winning hockey games unless we are playing the Chicago Blackhawks, which we wouldn’t do realistically until the WCF.
They're not getting this kind of coverage at "Hockey Night In Canada" folks! - Randy Hahn
