Healthy scratches?

What are those? Shouldn’t they be going to Worcester?

What will be really interesting will be seeing if McGinn and Demers get to practice with the team.

Blasphemy! Worcester Sharks do not get to practice with the NHL full timers! They are just there to fill lineup spots so they can watch greatness in action!

I don’t see any reason to see why they wouldn’t be after the deadline. No need to accrue any more cap space for a potential trade.

I still get worried we’re trying to just beat the cap come the final day of the regular season, so we don’t end up like Calgary last year, icing a team of 16 or something.

I think the Shelley trade was made to avoid just that.

I think so too, but we’ll have to see how the next 24 hours shape up for us.

lol ok, total noob question. What does “rec” mean and how’s it work? “Record” i’m guessing? Do i have a limited number of rec’s? How do i get more? Are there prizes?

by Khaaz on Mar 2, 2010 12:50 PM PST reply actions

Recommend. Click “Action” for a post, and you can rec it (good) or flag it (bad).

by Section223 on Mar 2, 2010 1:00 PM PST up reply actions   1 recs

I always chuckle a little bit when somebody says “rec’d” and the post they’re referring to has no rec’s.

“Rec” means “recommend.” It is done when you see a comment, article, Fanshot, or Fanpost that you really like. If you’ll notice, Elvis’ comment is now green— that is because two people “rec’d” his comment. Once it turns green it stands out when you are browising the comments, and makes sure that the funniest/most informative comments are seen.

However, using the term “Sooooooooo rec’d” to describe the recommending procedure is generally frowned upon at Fear The Fin. Or at least it should be.

Ah, so it’s the “sooooooooo” that is frowned upon and not the “rec’d.” That makes sense and I can stand behind it.

Reminds me of the overuse of punctuation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately I do break down into using that on big goals…

I also overuse ellipses… what can I say, I was a science major.

Excessive exclamation points are ok if you release the shift from time to time while typing them…break up the flow a little bit.

rec is recommend. You can recomment posts you really like (under each post, click on the link that says actions, then you can click on Rec when it shows up). Posts with enough recs (I believe a post needs 2 recs on this site), will be turned green so they stand out (see Elvis’s above).

New WTC Blog

This one is on the Olympics and quotes from players…

This is yet another reason on why I love Dan Boyle:

Boyle, who downplayed the strangeness factor as far as scoring on Evgeni Nabokov: "It was weirder to jump into (Ryan) Getzlaf’s and Corey Perry’s arms. What was I thinking? That was the weirdest part."

Pav’s and Jumbo on taking Face offs against each other:

Thornton: "We practice a lot against each other in faceoffs and I think we probably went 50-50. It was pretty even I’d say."

Pavelski: "About 60-40 — maybe."
