Hockey Poem

My youngest had to write some poems for school (can't believe they still have to do these sort of things) and asked what type of topics he could write about.  I suggested hockey of course.  At first he was trying to write down about a specific (any really) game, but I said no, just go with the general feel of when we go to games at the Tank.  Don't worry bout which team, the score, but go with the how you feel being there.

So here is his poem - be kind.  He doesn't know I'm sharing this but I'll probably show him any comments this might receive if they are kind.

Hockey

Here in the Tank
Our hope sank
The score three to one
The Wings almost won

The second period at end
Our score must ascend
Heatley scores a goal
Thornton scores in the five-hole

Score’s three to three
And so comes out Pavelski
Third period drew close to closure
And with a slap of the stick, loud and bolder
The puck went flying
And the goalie went diving

And now in the third
I fly like a bird
The score four to three
And now we shout in glee
