Around SBN: How Will Spurs Respond to James Anderson's Trade Request?

Ivan has the full recap coming later

There are literally dozens reading this right now...dozens!

but here are some bullet points.

1) Exhibit A why you don't look past Detroit. The "sweep" meme is now alive and well.

2) Safe to say this was the worst game San Jose has played this postseason. That being said, don't piss your pants just yet. Game five will be the hardest game for Detroit to win this entire series. Hate to say it's a must-win considering the Sharks have a 3-1 series lead, but it's just about close. Want no part of a game six at The Joe.

3) Flipped over for the last five minutes of the Montreal-Pittsburgh game. Bell Centre rocking, standard procedure. Not surprised it was voted the second hardest place to play in the NHL. Imagine trying to have sex while 20,000 people root against you. Brutal.

4) If you're mad, you have a right to be. But if you start throwing the entire team under the bus now after keeping mum during the last six games, go jump off a cliff. Steady is as steady goes. Reserve the vitriol and hand-wringing for game five. Tonight, just bask in the ludicrously lopsided result and find some humor in it.

5) Johan Franzen had the most points in a playoff game (6) since Geoff Courtnall of the St. Louis Blues in 1998. Unreal.

Stay classy, FTF readers.

Go Sharks.

where would that get you?

A 1-0 lead in the SCF, before everyone jumped off the ledge again? That’s not too shabby.

We felt bad for Detroit...

And decided to throw their fans a bone. Knowing they won’t get a chance to see their team again this season (nor Lidstrom ever again, possibly). Shouldda built up some good karma, there.

As I said before the series even got underway…SHARKS IN 5!

This is where we hold them! This is where we fight! This is where they die! Remember this day, men, for it will be yours for all time.

Yep…7-1 is very painful but it is one game and the Tank had better be nuts on Saturday. No one wants them to have to go back to Detroit…….eek scary. Come on game 5 and lets finish them off.

The Tank will be a madhouse!

I’m praying my boss will let me off a couple hours early so I won’t have to miss the first period! Let’s Go Sharks!!

I will not have a voice come Sunday, that’s for certain.

As I was riding my bike to my review session

I listened to Franzen score goals 3 & 4. I was in a frustrated mood before, but after that, I just started laughing.

This is exactly how I feel. The Sharks need to take care of business Saturday night…

Well, today was a fail, but we’ve still got Saturday. Just keep going, Sharks.

Today’s game was a Mulligan. Probably a true Mulligan stew. Forget about it and move on.

The tank is a whole different animal. This series ends on Saturday.

I'm not too worried about you guys winning one more game.

I would much rather be in your position than the Wings. Go Sharks!

Shrug

Detroit is a very good team, Franzen had a career night. Kudos to them. No doubt they deserved this game.

Come Saturday, this game could be just a footnote, right next to Craig Anderson’s incredible Game 3 performance. Could be a turningpoint for the Wings. Considering the performance over this season, and this series, I still have no doubts the Sharks are the better team, and I would like to believe they feel the same.

Go Sharks!

Hopefully we’ll be laughing about this soon.

One game does not a series make

I’m still super stoked that we stole one in the Joe. And steal one we did. Now we go home and show them why the Tank is the hardest arena to play in for the enemy. That being said, I feel like I got food poisoning and then got hit by a bus on the way to the bathroom to puke. I’m sure the game didn’t help. Goodnight, and until Saturday

Pavelski

looked like he was going to puke at one point during his postgame comments. Can’t say I blame him after that.

This is all because we didn’t have Late Night Confidential last night for the first time all since the winning streak started…

by WiscoShark on May 6, 2010 7:54 PM PDT reply actions

Actually...

It was the second game without SLNC, we didn’t get one before Game 3 as well. =/

I thought they only did it after road games? Either way I miss it.

I had that same thought as the game was ending. Fuck CSNBA!

A little off-topic

But I’ve gotta give you guys around here some props for all the Arrested Development references being made around here. Well played.

by sPaNiArD440 on May 6, 2010 8:06 PM PDT via mobile reply actions

Sort of a stupid question, but..

…how DO you wash a jersey, anyway? I’ve had one for about 5 years and have been slow to do anything about it.

by hypernayte on May 6, 2010 8:19 PM PDT up reply actions

Turn it inside out, wash in cold water with no fabric softener. Hang to dry.

If we don't get our sauce, we ain't watching the game!

Not time to panic

As fans, our job is to hang in there and root the heck out of this situation (and it’s really not a situation). The Sharks will bounce back. We don’t need to boo them or get down. Have faith and they will end this thing on Saturday!

by hypernayte on May 6, 2010 8:08 PM PDT reply actions

Detroit just needed to get all those leftover goals out of their system before they head to the beach after Saturday. Here’s to Nabby shutting the door on Saturday

by fatbabies on May 6, 2010 8:10 PM PDT reply actions

even though the series is 3-1 (unfortunately in sharks favor :) )

it does not represent what this series has been. im hoping this series continues after saturday, as much as im sure you guys dont. but you guys are a great team. im sure you guys will bounce back and i expect a brawl (not in the fighting way) in game 5.

by dhall25 on May 6, 2010 8:14 PM PDT reply actions

and if you are a sharks fan, dont throw this team under the bus

you guys are a still a very good hockey team. you guys are still 2 games up.

by dhall25 on May 6, 2010 8:15 PM PDT up reply actions

Nice to hear from a cool Detroit fan.

dhall25, thanks for the props for San Jose. My entire wife’s family is from Detroit, so I sort of swim against the current out here (Utah). But Detroit is an amazing team, and truthfully, this has been a pretty event matched series (Babcock and McLellan have said this, too). Congrats, Detroit, for tonight. Hopefully we’ll have our acts together on Saturday night and put this away. :)

by hypernayte on May 6, 2010 8:18 PM PDT up reply actions

yeah man. i usually respectful as long as people arent pricks

but yeah. besides game 5 every game could have went either way (atleast thats my bias opinion).

yeah, im still hopeful that we can pull this out, but i also see through red tented glass. realistically there is a very slim chance. either way, its been a great series (when the refs let us play). i missed most the game though, so i didnt see how chippy it got in the 3rd.

but good luck if wings postseason end sat (hopefully not) ill root for anyone who arent the hawks or pens
