Something for Nabby

I'm sure many of us have been to the tank, and some of us (or our kids) have been fortunate enough to get some momentoes from the players that will last a lifetime.

I have been thinking about that a lot in the last 24 hours.

In particular, I was thinking about one post where someone told the story of how Nabby gave them his Goalie Stick at the end of the match they were watching at the tank. It's one of those things I've always admired about the Sharks, and Nabby in particular...he always made the time to interact with the fans, young and old. Ivano's story about his heckling experience only solidified my respect for the man.

I got to thinking..."what can we do, as fans, to show Nabby how much we've appreciated him?"

Then it came to me.

Next week I'll be going down to Shark's Ice to pick up a Goalie Stick, then over to Office Max to pick up a paint marker.

I was thinking that any of the FTF faithful that would like to pay respects to a great guy that's given us over 10 years of service could meet up at Firehouse Bar #1 at San Pedro St. to sign the stick.

I was thinking as well of laminating a few notable photos from his career on the blade, and would be more than open to suggestions posted here.

I'm prettey sure that with a few quick calls we'll be able to find a way to get it to Nabby before he leaves San Jose.

A Goalie Stick from the fans just seems fitting, and poetic. And I'm pretty sure no one has done this before for a player.

Let's do one last NABBY-NABBY-NABBY! for the road...
