Well, I'm not sure about everyone else here @ FTF, but I'm going to REALLY miss seeing Nabby in the net for our beloved Sharks. Being that I'm in my late teens, Nabby's the only goalie I've really known that has been the Sharks goalie (although I do remember Steve Shields). The guy's been a fixture in net for our boys in teal for over a decade and as a whole, I'm going to miss what he brought to the Sharks whenever they took the ice.
Just some memories I have of good 'ol Nabby. Well, for starters, there's this:
In my mind, still the best save in the NHL over the past decade....kept the Sharks' playoff hopes alive....for @ least two overtime periods....and kept me up til 2 in the morning eastern time watching this mammoth of a hockey game and let me miss school the next day :) As far as between the blue paint is concerned, I think he's easily one of the best goalies I've ever seen.
Unfortunately, the other memories are ones I'd like to forget. Like, whenever Nabby left the net to play the puck, I held my breath and tried not to watch because I found he made me extremely anxious whenever he decided to play it. I'm also not going to miss his indecisiveness with the puck once he got to it and even sometimes giving it away to a forechecker and either giving the opponents either a very good scoring chance or even a goal. So, his puckhandeling I will not miss at all.
Like I said though, although I'm rooting for my boy Alex Stalock(pictured) to be the Sharks' starting goalie next year, I'm going to miss the guy we had.
