FTF Call-In Show
TCY and I were planning on recording our podcast Saturday afternoon due to time constraints, meaning that 6:30 Friday would be when we would be recording the call-in portion of our podcast. What does this mean? Essentially I'm just trying to gauge the interest level for tomorrow night at 6:30, and see if anyone was planning on calling in to talk to us. We had a lot of problems with TalkShoe the other week, which could account for the number of callers we received (considering there were about 80 people listening live at one point), but if we're only going to get 2 callers it's probably not worth the time. If that's the case, and the interest level isn't there for a live chat, we can always go the route of submitting questions in the comments that TCY and I can cover on Saturday. Completely up to you guys. Let us know, and have a great night folks. Go Sharks.

Friday nights tend to not be good for me
Tomorrow I’ll be driving up to SF, so I can try to phone in from the road.

Good point, and that might be an issue for a lot of people. Maybe I should post a poll tomorrow on the best day for people to call in. Monday through Thursday might be the best.

Same here...
…but it’s more because of the summer concert series up in FC, and Friday is usually the night my wife and I go out.

Hey hey...
Hey people. Sharks fan from Chicago here. Long time reader, first time commenter.
I’ll be at the Pitchfork Music Festival tomorrow with the lady, so unfortunately I can’t call in, but I will submit 2 questions though. Sorry they aren’t more in-depth. I’ve been a casual hockey fan for years, only recently starting to go more staunch about it, in terms of following prospects.
1. Let’s say the Sharks do grab Willie Mitchell and he plays at his expected level and the rest of the lineup remains more of less the same as we know it thus far, do the Sharks become the new favorites to dethrone my hometown team as Western Conference champs?
2. On the side, do you guys think the Sharks could ever take part in the Winter Classic in the next 5 years somehow? I keep thinking a game vs. Colorado at Coors or Invesco Field might work, or possibly a game with the Canucks at Safeco in Seattle. I know they are probably a long way off, due to being a relatively new team in terms of the league and being West Coast and all, but why not diversify the exposure and make the game at 3pm EST, yknow?
Other than that, solid job done by you three gents (Plank, TCY and Ivano). You guys kept me in the know last season when I discovered the blog and I look forward to the hopefully good time ahead.
Waiting for the June when the 'San Jose Sharks' become the 'Stanley Cup Sharks.'

Cannot attend
First of all: I have been a big reader of Working the Corners, but really love this site. Great analysis. You guys are doing a great job.
My thoughts on discussion topics:
1. The idea of trading Clowe and/or Murray to improve our defense is being talked about extensively. Seems to me without one or both of these guys we are missing some sorely needed muscle and grit. Defense is the higher priority, but if Clowe/Murray are traded, what are your thoughts on our big boys next year?
2. Idea: We all know that that the season does not mean much for the Sharks next year. They are going to make the playoffs and that is when the only test that matters happens. In order to get Joe to shoot more and get the league to respect the shot, what if TMac said to Jumbo: Make sure you take at least 2 shots per game by skating towards the net from the halfboards. Others will crash the net. Try that for the first half of the season, with the goal of Jumbo netting 15 goals. I think that might really change the look of our PP and open up new passing lanes. What do you think?
I won’t be around tonight to call in or listen. Soz, guys.
