Fear the Fin App
So after this whole Marc Staal drama, I was looking at Blueshirt Banter. I noticed that they are working on/voting on having an app for the iPhone, iTouch, and Blackberry for their site. I was just wondering if (TCY and Plank are gonna kill me) we might be interested in doing this too.

Killer. I'd pay $0.99 for it ;-)

If it was offered I’d get it.

Yup
same here but for Blackberry too for those who refuse to get an iPhone… :)

I think SBnation would have to make it
Considering how well their sites are put together I would expect nothing but pure awesome if they made an iOS/android app
Totally.
I think I mentioned this week that mobile commenting didn’t work so well for me. This would likely solve the problem.

Hmm…I mean I’d totally DL it, but SB Nation’s mobile site works so well on the iPhone (aside from voting in polls), that it’s hard to imagine there’d be a ton of demand.

yeah the polls don't work
still the mobile site doesn’t mark new comments, so its pretty hard to navigate articles w/ 400 comments to find new ones.
Plus if they put an app together the front-end of the sites would be preloaded, so all it would request is the actual data. This would make the site faster. Also you could get notifications when new articles, fanposts, fanshots are posted which would be sweet.
We actually had an app in the works last year (and were going to release it before the playoffs), but are developer got swamped with too much work and begin to have problems with Apple’s approval etc.
It’s still something we’re interested in doing, but right now, it’s on the backburner.
