Sharks Mt. Puckmore

What do you guys think? I would of replaced Nabby or Jumbo with DW.

I would have at least given the Gunds an HM…they are the reason we’re even here.

And I’d have had DW in there, but can’t complain with the list too much, even if I think it’s too now-centric.

I felt like it ended up being more focused on the last 6 years than I expected, but I can’t argue too much. Good to see DW, Ricci, and Irbe get honorable mentions.

To be honest, I think the biggest call was Thornton or Nabokov over Mike Ricci, not Doug Wilson. As much as he delivered in a front office role, you have to judge him based on the playoff performance of the teams. Not a topic too many want to rehash. Tried to get a couple of first person recollections, but pretty much everyone was on vacation.

If it’s just players… I like the list.

But DW was a really really close honorable mention for me. No Jumbo, no Boyle, no Heatley trades if not for DW. Probably the three biggest trades in Sharks history?

I might have left Jumbo off in favor of DW. Nabby’s a lock in my mind.

It's perfect.

I justify Jumbo being on there because his arrival transformed the Sharks into serious contenders. Before Jumbo, the Sharks were a non-traditional market team that overachieved and got very little press coverage. As soon as he arrived he got Cheechoo the Richard Trophy, earned himself the Art Ross and Hart trophies, and gave the Sharks their first ever Superstar. I partly agree with those of you that say that he hasn’t been here long enough to be up on our Mt. Puckmore, but his arrival greatly transformed the team in such a way that his inclusion is justified.

It's a great list.

I might have switched DW for Thornton, but I can’t really complain having him on Mt. Puckmore.

Don't let the name deceive you, I'm not just a Sharks fan but a Lakers, 49ers, Angels, Giants (and to a lesser extent) Capitals, and Titans fan.

I'm happy with the list

People keep saying that Joe hasn’t been here that long, but he did come in the 2005-06 season. I think 4 seasons going on 5 amassing the points and individual hardware he has here, plus the fact that he is the face of the franchise to most of the league warrants his position on the mount.

But the points on DW are valid.
